BFG All-Terrain 275/65/18

I’ve got K03’s at 285/65/18 on my OBX. I LOVE the looks, but they just won’t balance for crap. Road forced twice, and throwing in the towel via the 60 satisfaction guarantee. Just too rough for me, and too much shaking.

Thinking about the Trail Terrain’s instead. Anyone have any experience with them? I really love the white lettering of the K03’s but willing to trade for the white outline lettering of the trail terrain if they’re an easier tire to live with in daily driving world.

That's the new updated K02's? That's disappointing, although weren't the K02's hard to balance?

Best white letter tires IMO are the Cooper STT Pro, Mickey T Baja Legend EXP and Baja Boss.

May just be me and my luck (which doesn’t exist), but we just can’t get them to act right. Car is uncomfortable to drive above 60mph, feels unsafe and not easy to control.
I have to stay in the Michelin family for the 60 day satisfaction warranty.

COOPERS is the way to go , best warranty , white walls if you want that look , no loud road noise , easy riding load E , look awesome

I'm sick over having to replace the K03's, really am. Think they look fantastic on the bronco. But part of my daily is 75mph for 25 miles in traffic, and they just shake the car way too much for me. Probably part my learning curve here on E rated "All" Terrain tires. I don't mind the noise, but the shaking is too much to live with. I think the "Trail" Terrain may be the solution. SL rated instead of E, about 20lbs lighter, still looks good, just not as good. Ugh...

I really debated between the BFG and the Coopers for probably 3 months while waiting on my car. Went back and forth a 100 times. But figured with all of the love on the K02's, the K03's would be that much better. Perhaps I was expecting a bit too much. Or I have a bad set. Or I haven't found the right tire shop to balance them. But honestly, I don't want to do any of that for a brand spakin' new car. I just want to hang my arm out the window and enjoy the breeze..

Are they having to put on an abnormal amount of weights to balance?

I’m running Toyo Open Country ATIII 275/65 18 on my OBX and it’s a very comfortable ride at 35psi. For what it’s worth, I had installed plus sized BFG MTs on an F-250 I had and had the same problem. Once I reached about 60-65 mph it would not so much vibrate but more of a bouncing effect. Shop owner didn’t believe me took it for a drive and said these tires won’t work. Went to AT in same size and problem went away. He told me in his opinion the wide aggressive tread was the cause….?

Your Toto’s are SL ;standard load) rated, giving them some extra breathing room on the sidewall. The KO’s are E rated, making them very stiff, which I think is part of the problem. I think the margin of error on balancing them correctly is very narrow because of that, too narrow for me to spend time on maintaining considering the rather pedestrian usage mine will see. I think I made the mistake of going with the E rated hardness. I have to stay within a certain window of brands to exchange them without cost (likely a partial refund coming). The BFG “trail” terrain tires are like your Toyo’s with the same SL rating, so hopefully that will do the trick. If I lived in an area where I would see rough roads and trails / off road more often, then I think the K0’s would be a great choice. But for suburbia mall crawler, I made a mistake with them. I don’t mind the noise, but the shaking / hopping like you mentioned is just too much to live with!

It's because the ko3s are F load rated. For mainly pavement driving stick to C or D.
