I had BFG's on my 85 4 Runner and my 78 Jeep and 2015 jeep...i was always under the impression these were Great tires but i can tell you i could never get the shimmy out from balancing on any of my jeeps or 4 runner...i also would never get in the right lane and hit a puddle after a rain with them because it would pull so uncomfortably hard it was frightening with 5000 lb vehicle. I'm pretty much done with BFG's and will seek other options. Actually my 2023 Badlands sasquatch 35's Goodyear have done none of these things...I can drive at 85 mph with no shimmy and they never pull with puddles on the right side. I may do Goodyears again when i need tires. I would avoid BFG's in my opinion.I have 285 BFG ATs on a 2022 4 door V6. I don’t off-road at all but like the look.
Is it me or are they absolutely horrible and actually dangerous on wet pavement. If I am at a stop on a slight hill and give it gas I can spin them forever. A 20mph right turn on a residential street causes spin. Any gas and it’s full on fishtail. A curved 40mph road feels like I am too toeing.
this all on wet pavement and not still raining.
any suggestion on a switch to a better road tire that isn’t hideous?
