Banks vs pedal commander.

Anyone have any thoughts on the difference performance on the banks versus the pedal Commander? I just installed the AFE momentum air intake today and would like to remove the lag on throttle response. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Banks is well thought out and would be my personal choice. It has built in safeties so that if something goes wrong everything remains functional. They put a ton of effort into their products.

I’ve read up on both, but do not have one. If I did buy, I’d go Banks.

I bought the PC many years ago. Main reason was I had a 50% off coupon for some reason I don’t remember. No complaints! Bronco definitely scoots around. Can’t go wrong with either, IMHO.

A couple of years ago I called Banks and asked if their Pedal Monster would help with the throttle lag in my Bronco. They told me the Pedal Monster modifies the signal going into the PCM (Powertrain Control Module) and I'd still have throttle lag. The Pedal Monster just changes how much throttle you need to apply, not how quickly the engine responds.

The throttle lag occurs in the PCM. No throttle controller, whether it's the Pedal Monster or the Pedal Commander changes the PCM programming. If you want to get rid of throttle lag, figure out how to reprogram the PCM.

I installed the Pedal Commander about 3 months ago. No lag at all anymore. Awesome throttle response, and you can set it anyway you like.

Had both on my LWN Duramax, other than the Banks failing safe, which is an incredibly rare occurrence, the difference is negligible IMO. I got the Banks intending to function with my OG iDash in the LWN, which it doesn't, so buyer beware, only works with the iDash Pro.

I've had both, but not in the same car, so not an apples to apples comparison.

They both felt artificial, and neither stood out as making a meaningful improvement. The PC was in a 300S Hemi, I sold the PC and got it tuned instead. Then I had a Durango R/T Hemi, and tried the PM... sold that as well and got it tuned.

I'm getting the FP ProCal installed on the Bronco on Wednesday. I've learned my lesson.

Some people swear by them, I am not one of them.

Yes.
Both/all are essentially 80% throttle on 11% to 20% of initial pedal travel.
They save ankle usage, nothing else meadurable outside of a laboratory.

I think most who have an AT will be happy with either. I was looking for a way to reduce lag when I lifted off the throttle when shifting. Neither will do that.
