Can we please give up on the back and forth about why what and who needs start stop or not. I tried to answer the OP’s question and now it is just buried in useless banter.

I find that generally the amount of pressure needed to keep you stopped will engage it. However once it engages and you let off then reapply pressure the system won’t reengage. When at a stop, just put enough pressure on the brake pedal to keep you still. If you put excessive pressure on the brake pedal the ASS will activate. Less pressure will not activate it.....the engine will remain running.
Some of us don't care to have the lives of our engines or starters significantly shortened by excessive restarts.I just don’t get the hate for for auto stop/start. It’s much less intrusive than just about any other auto stop/start system I’ve driven with.
Why the need to disable it?
The internet told them it was annoying.I just don’t get the hate for for auto stop/start. It’s much less intrusive than just about any other auto stop/start system I’ve driven with.

Just keep with your milage and repair bills and we will compare in the future. That oil just vannishes? Poooof gone!![]()
So what happens when you shut your vehicle offIn my professional opinion the auto start/stop is bad on turbochargers due to when the engine stops the turbo stops getting its oil supply causing premature bearing damage because the turbo does not stop spinning immediately. But to each is their own, you bought it do what pleases you !![]()
Youre not a pilot by chance are you? LolBut pressing the button is free lol
I've just gotten into the habit of pressing the button everytime. It's second nature now just like turning traction control off when I had my mustang.
Turn vehicle on, hit button, put in gear and drive
Haha nopeYoure not a pilot by chance are you? Lol
People who can’t drive a stick.I just don’t get the hate for for auto stop/start. It’s much less intrusive than just about any other auto stop/start system I’ve driven with.
Why the need to disable it?
Press a button every time you drive or disable it forever….I’ll take forever. There's a button to disable it already. You just have to remember to press it.
Just extend your index finger when you're reaching for the shifter to put it in gear. Problem solved. No cost to the consumer.
