I see price range from $50 to $100. Seems everyone is satisfied with all of them. Tell me why I should pay double the price?

I used the forscan one and it works great. You will have to find the forscan code changes in the pinned spreadsheet.

I don't know if they are, but with the cheap Amazon ones I did see people reporting problems with windows and electronics when using those.
So for my kid's Bronco, we went with the autos top eliminator for $99, so far no issues and it works perfectly. Sometimes the extra price is worth the peace of mind.

I installed the $99 one on day 2 of ownership 2023. Took about an hour for me to install due to having to remove a couple of lower dash pieces (not a mechanic/tech) Has never failed. Would do it again for sure.

The FP tuner makes it stay on the last choice for a '23. I did hear if you update you lose this though... unsure.

The code for that doesn’t appear anywhere when I’ve looked for it in Forscan.
What am I missing?

It’s not going to appear anywhere in forscan, you have to enter/change it.

You know, when I first got the Bronco I thought i was going to hate it but with the 7 speed I don't even notice it now and it saves a lot of wasted fuel. I can understand the automatic trannys would probably be a pain but in the manual the engine is running before the clutch is disengaged.

Now, Ford says they added a more robust starter to allow for the frequent starts so we'll see how long before I need to replace the starter. If I feel the starter should have lasted longer then I'll be looking for the permanent solution too but right now I love Auto Start Stop.

For me a simple solution seems to have worked quite well. I have the 23MY that does not keep the Forscan changes so needed a better solution.

That solution was make something that pushes the button and disables it for me...

One of the first accessories I got for my Bronco was the complete service manual with wiring diagrams, I noted that the ASS disable button has a line from the HVAC module, I measured the voltage in the inactive and active states of the button and even pulled the module that houses it open to see that it is a hard contact to ground when pushed.

At this point I threw together a simple $6 AdafruitTrinket controller with a MOSFET and a couple of resistors to bias it plus a few lines of code and presto! problem solved.

I had planned on cleaning it up as this was just a proof of concept, but it has worked flawlessly since day one so I never bothered to go back and make it pretty. It does not need the heavy duty MOSFET or 1/2 watt resistor, I was just using what I had in front of me at the time.

I did a non intrusive sneak a wire into housing to connect it to pin 7, white / brown wire which gets pulled to ground to simulate the button being pushed.
The board gets its power from tapping bottom fuse of BCM 'RUNSTART' power.

Very, nice. It's hard to beat homemade :)

I've been spreading my fingers wide when I start the car, and pressing the start button with my thumb and disabling ASS with my pinky. Just ordered an OBDlink SX Forscan adapter for the same price as a one of those eliminators that will do a heck of alot more for the same $.
