First, really appreciate your support man it's really kind of you. The direction i received from the company are as below:

"

Here setup your pc with this guide https://docs.google.com/document/d/1N6JyjDNqLipl8Gc2L62GWT864eDEeRmNdutPoX6iXtQ/edit?usp=drivesdk

Once setup with FORScan BEFORE removing that module, connect to the car, go to the computer chip tab and choose APIM (as built format). Hit “SAVE ALL” at the bottom. Save it. Then install the new module, connect to the car again with the computer, same apim as built format and hit “LOAD ALL”. Once you select the file hit ok to any warning then hit “WRITE ALL”
Ok, so those written instructions are pretty much what I said. However, the document you linked says to prepare for remote programming, they want you to install FORScan, get a license for it and plug into the truck to prepare for them to remote in and program it for you.

So, not sure if that part applies to you or not. Maybe after you write the ab data from your old module to the new one, they may have to remote in to clean a few things up?

Save the ab file now while the 8" APIM is in the truck.

Correct. Open the connection with FORScan, click the microchip button, then highlight APIM (as built) and hit the play button on the bottom left. Scroll to the bottom and do a save all. FORScan will save the abt file in the FORScan folder. Swap in the new APIM, and then repeat the process but select load all instead and select the file and flash it.

At the risk or sounding redundant: Get clarification from the company you bought it from. If they provided you with some kind of written instructions, message it to me and I will gladly look at it to see if it entails anything other than flashing the a/b data.
Ok I am several steps behind here but I am looking to make sure I do this correctly.

I bought THIS kit knowing it does not have an APIM. Is THIS APIM the correct one for the 12" infotainment screen? I will get FORscan and the OBD/USB interface cable. What's next once I prep for the install and install it? Literally just copy the program from my 8" to FORscan and save it there, then install the new 12" APIM and load that saved data to it? Since it is not a pre-programmed 12" APIM do I need to/can I "format" it before dumping my data on it? I don't want to be halfway into this and realize I am only 2/3's of the way ready. Thanks!

Unless you have a bench, you cannot program the APIM. I'm not an expert at this, but I can tell you that you can't just throw any APIM in there. It would need to have matching software to the sync version your truck has now. If that APIM is say two versions behind your current one, it will corrupt the data on the server side and cause problems with updates going forward. I don't think you can use FDRS to program it because the p/n won't match what is on the server so it won't pull the correct files.

The most important element of the screen swap is the APIM if you want to work correctly. Sure you can throw an APIM in there and it'll turn on and work, but there will be back end issues when the truck syncs up with the server that cause problems with OTAs and FDRS updates for the Sync modules. I've seen people get lucky and the APIM happens to be on the right software by coincidence, but that is rare.

If you can get the VIN of the truck it came out of, send it to me and send me your VIN and I can check to see if the data matches on Ford's side to the best of my ability. Again: I do not consider myself an expert at this.

So I am back at square one being thousands of dollars where a VIN programmed APIM is over $1000...

https://www.extremeterrain.com/info...pim-sync-module-gps-navigation-f-s4nav-1.html

I am looking, but haven't found a place that programs a VIN to a user supplied "used" APIM.

I did reach out to these guys.

https://oemplusupgrades.com/product...2drj2N5OWzxT-yn3uJWymnNpewsZELV0Kuq3bhS8kh01m
The first one seems to be third party vendor because it says Infotainment. Those guys know what they're doing, but they aren't cheap. Maybe cheaper if you go through them directly.

The other one based on the FORScan screenshot they have and the price, I don't think that's what you're looking for, but worth an ask, I guess.

I have come up empty and thus have not done the swap and cancelled my order for the other parts...

There is no REASONABLY priced solution to a correctly programmed APIM for the 12" swap? I sure have not found one that is not over $1,000 for just the programmed part.

The reasonable solution is to trade in your existing Bronco and get another that has the 12” screen from the factory.

Sorry, but it usually does cost stupid money to upgrade this kind of stuff after the fact, unless you are willing to go full aftermarket

Not even close. $2600 for the plug and play kit is a billions times more reasonable. But I do not want to pay that. Hence why I am looking for a reasonable APIM programmed location.

I don't want to pay that hefty price either... So I did a little research. I was able to track down a used APIM on EBay for about $400 from a salvaged 21' Bronco. I verified via google the VIN to make sure it was a 12" screen.

Now I can buy that CARABC kit and with a little help of FORScan too just incase to get it all working.
