Apparently during the last OTA this window drop feature was "broken" in the process and there is a fix on the way.

Many vehicles have used the window indexing for decades . Fords version seems to be a little problematic though.

Sometimes issues with this feature can be traced to a bad switch at the door latching mechanism. The switch at the door striker tells it to index up/down and may be failing.

So I have the same problem as OP. The short drop just stopped working on my passenger side rear window tonight, as well as the auto-close feature on that window. Tried the reset procedure about 5 times with no effect. This is on a ‘25 HE I’ve had for less than 6 weeks. Will update this as fix progresses.

EDIT: Ok, I just saw a guy reset his on YouTube and I did it his way and it worked! The difference is when you do the reset procedure you have to be careful to only lift (and hold) or press (and hold) the window button one click. Meaning not ALL the way lifted or pressed where you would engage a second click for the auto open/close feature. The way it read in the manual wasn’t clear on this point. But the guy in the YouTube video talked to a Ford tech who explained it. Anyway, it works again so I’m happy.

My 2023 always dropped the windows for the first 18 months I owned it then it stopped and doesn't do it any longer. I figured it was causing another problem an they took it out with an update.

Short drop is what allows the windows to not snag the top weather strip when you shut or open the door. They should drop only slightly to clear the stripping. If it doesn’t do that your windows will be pushed outward at the top when you close the door, with a big gap for rain or water to get in. See OP video.

Bounce back is when they try to close but open back up a bit (more than short drop) because of resistance or whatever. That’s what you don’t want. Mine did that and then the short drop didn’t work until the manual reset.

My driver's side rear door has decided it no longer wants to auto drop/raise. Have to keep reprogramming it but then a few days later it stops working again.

Weird how this was never a problem with Mustangs 🤦

Sucks to do all the time, but pdrform a window reset and it should fix it (at least temporarily).

Hold the window switch down until fully open and hold for a few seconds, then up until fully closed and hold for a few seconds, then down again until fully open and hold a few seconds, then up again until fully closed and hold for a few seconds.

Also ask them to see if there are any window module updates available
I did the reset above and it worked great. Others have posted success with this reset also.
The window was not "indexing" and the auto up was not working. But now my window works perfectly. Best wishes. Hope it works for you too!

I have done the reset before an it didn't change anything. I tried it again today doing it twice for each window an that seems to have turned it back on. At least the drivers window drops.
