I love, love, love the screen in my Bronco. It’s just the right size and the resolution is really crisp.

But…

CarPlay seems sporadic. Most noteably, sometimes WAZE gives spoken directions and shows the next turn on the screen, but where the map should be is just a blank white space.

Anybody experience this? Found a solution?

Mine seems to randomly lose connection with my phone while driving It Will not reconnect unless I pull over turn the car completely off , open the door and re-close it. Then I have to restart the ignition and it will connect. Only happens once in a while and it’s very frustrating. It will not allow you to reconnect to CarPlay while you’re driving.

really sucks when I’m in Google maps trying to navigate an area. I’m not familiar with.

Hold down the power button and the skip track forward button for ~3 seconds. The infotainment will restart. You can accomplish the same thing by putting the phone in airplane mode and resetting that, however using the Bronco is faster and easier, especially while driving.

This happens in various apps when switching between audio inputs, such as receiving a text or turning the music off to give a direction. See above instructions. I feel like this is an apple issue and I hope they update it. Sometimes it won't happen for weeks, sometimes it happens a few times on a drive.

I’m assuming you mean the skip track forward button on the steering wheel and the power button on the volume control knob.

I pressed those in unison for three seconds, but I didn’t see anything happen that looked like a reset. However, Waze is working properly after that, so thanks!

Thanks. I’ll give that a try.
You can also go into your phone settings and toggle your Bluetooth off and then back on, assuming you are connected by Bluetooth and not a cord. This always works for me and is quick and easy, sometimes just resetting the infotainment screen doesn't work on my Bronco.

Same issues. Took me awhile to figure out the process. A drag if on the hi way. Updates automatic?

No, he means the power button and the skip forward button on the dash below the center screen. This performs a 'reset' to the infotainment system.

If you have multiple phones saved in the vehicle, sometimes you can attempt to connect to a different phone (even if it isn't in the vehicle - it will just fail to connect), wait until it either connects or fails, then reconnect to your primary phone. Used to have to do this occasionally in the Bronco or my wife's Expedition (truck seems to be fine, knock on wood) when it would connect everything except audio. Haven't seen the issue since upgrading to iOS 26 but it hasn't been out long either.

No, the power button and the ff button on the dashboard/radio area-not the steering wheel.

At first I thought it was a ford issue but the more it happens the more I’m convinced it’s apple for sure.

Mine has been fine (so far). once I figured out how to display phone navigation and Pandora simultaneously (even though iPhone doesnt support split screen) life has been good. My single gripe is that it doesnt remember the set up reliably, half the time I have to set it up again. May be a bigger problem as the Bronco doesnt remember other things like ambient light settings.

How do you get it to display nav and another app? Mine would just do it when it connected sometimes, I never did anything. I'm not sure to make it do it some or all the time.

I let the system connect to my phone. Start Pandora on the phone. It comes up on SYNC as full screen. Then I drag it to the right and select carplay from the taskbar . Then on the far left it is displaying the phone aps, select phone Nav. That is the initial setup. Then everytime I get in, it pairs and picks up where I left off. Sometimes however the music info isnt on the right, so I hit that list icon in the lower right, scroll to the music symbol and the music data shows up (song, artist, album art etc). I dont have my Bronco with me today, but I will double check these steps when I have it.
