I'm thinking of upgrading the sound system in my 2 door 2023 Black Diamond without B&O and I'm looking at buying the Kicker CompRT 6.75" sub. I saw most people use the ford fusion FP5T-18C808-AB amp, but I can't find any. I was wondering if the HS7T-18T806-AD from a 2017 fusion or the DS7T-18B849-AV from a 2019 f250 would work? I’m also open to any new aftermarket amp suggestions if they can be under $120.

I don't know about the 2 door, but just about everyone who has upgraded their sub has gone up to the 8" - I wouldn't expect a dramatic improvement with the 6.75 and the Fusion amp. And if I had to pick the most popular amp - I'd say it's the Kicker Key 500.1 for the sub - not the fusion amp.

From what I’ve seen, the 2023’s have the dummy amp and dummy speaker in the back and I saw a video about it where they used a fusion alp and the 6.75in sub as it all already fit in the factory frame. If I go from no sub to the 6.75in is there really no difference?

Heres the video:

From no sub to 6.75 you'll get something, but if you had to add anyway, why not just go for the 8? I think the extra cost up front would be better than potentially not being happy enough with the 6.75. That seems to be the consensus for all but the extreme audio gang who are going 10s and 12s with new DSPs etc.

well my reasoning for wanting the 6.75 is because it fits without doing any modifications, but for the 8” I would have to cut and I don’t really feel confident doing something irreversible yet

I have an FoMoCo FP5T-18C808-AB amp that I bought and never installed - it’s still in the original box. Happy to part with it if you need it. Send me a PM with your details and I will to sell it to you for what I paid it for. $74.99 plus shipping.

This - unless you are thinking of going even bigger

You have to screw in new mount holes - which isn’t far off from opening the hole up just a bit anyway

I have a 2023 with factory amp and sub and it is garbage.

If you're going to go through the trouble to take off the panel and put in a new sub, save up and put in the 500.1 amp. The Kicker amp will give you 125 watts at 4 ohms (6.75 4 ohm sub is rated for 150 watts) while the Ford amp will give you a fraction of that.

Enfig sells a harness that lets you plug and play into the factory wiring without running any wires. If you want more than 125 watts, you need to run a cable from the battery.

Line the box with dynamat, fill with polyfill, and seal the square port firing down at the bottom. The Kicker sub requires a sealed box.

Run a remote bass knob to the front so you can control the bass level.

The enfig upgrade kit seems reasonably priced at $449.

I did the 6.75” kicker and OEM amp combo and while it does work it leaves a lot to be desired.

It’s not the ideal setup but man car audio is a real rabbit hole and the way they have run wires in the bronco doesn’t make it easy. If you’re looking for a relatively straightforward install just to have a tiny bit better sound, this combo and swap out the speakers is essentially the first stop on the audio upgrade path.

You could do it and then decide whether you want to proceed further. For me the answer is yes but then becomes matching speakers, amps, wiring, impedances, watts RMS on and on. Not to mention how much you want to spend because the next option from here is a decent jump.
