Replaced my seals 3x due to leaks until front diff blew at 35k. $3,400 repair (warranty)

How much of a leak? All my old 4x4s leak fluids, it's never caused an issue with them. Not saying a new Bronco should leak, but if only a small leak I wouldn't be too concerned.

Yeah, our older trucks all leak a bit, and just aren't as squeaky clean as this new one, but it is actually dripping to the ground now, leaving a spot about the size of a silver dollar overnight.

...Howdy Bronco Nation. You guys are going to love this, my wife and I are a "2 Bronco family' now that I moved us from Texas to dirty, dusty Kansas. I hate abusing or getting my Bronco dirty so when my wife isn't around I borrow her Bronco every chance I get and thoroughly beat the crap out of it. I never dreamed I could get it 5 feet off the ground on those long, high-speed jumps. With all my abuse her truck lost a diff seal a few months ago which was replaced under warranty, then last week with more abuse it lost an axle seal so it's headed back to the dealership. My wife is worried about her truck's issues -vs- mine which has been perfect so I just keep my mouth shut when the topic comes up and shake my head. I hope she doesn't find out. Gotta run, she's out with friends and I need to go 'wheeling again......

I have now set up trail cams in hopes of catching my husband playing with my pony instead of his own F-250. We all know mine's better than his but that's no excuse!!!

I never had a Ford that didn't leak some kind of fluid, Like the chopper crew in the Marines told me when I brought it to their attention the hydraulics are leaking they said "That's normal, start worrying when you don't see it leaking!!"

Naw, no drama. Modern vehicle quality is out the window. The vehicles I work on for a living have rear main seals, torque converter seals leaking in just a few thousand miles. Your vehicle isnt the only vehicle with issues.

My front pinion seal is leaking. Been leaking for a bit. It's a known issue. Good thing we have warranties.

Curious if these seals are failing on models optioned with Sasquatch.

Mine isn't Sasquatch, but it does have the M210 front differential, so it might be isolated t just that particular unit.

While the seal could be the problem, my experience is that it is usually a bushing/bearing (play) problem that takes the seal out causing the leak…case in point guy above went through 3 seals then diff itself, I say pinion bearing was cause all along…

I was thinking along the lines of cause and effect also.
@CelticCactus , I didn’t see it brought up in other replys but by chance do you put it in 4A ever/frequently/always? I’ve read of other guys with premature front end issues but some were related to their use of 4A.

It has been in Slippery mode a handful of times, recently in the snow, and not driven very far or fast. (to kiddo's school 8 minutes away) I'm wondering if the extreme cold plays a part???

On a seal like this - it shouldn't.

We see it all the time in pump seals - if there is a bearing going out, it will just chew up seals until the bearing finally does go. It's also notoriously difficult to get new seals on exactly perfect so that they don't just shred themselves on startup. New guys always seem to go through 3 or 4 before they get it just right.

Ya, I hope not. Since peeps have had front end issues related to their use( sometimes overuse) of 4A, I’m pretty mindful of where and when I use it. But like OP, mine’s seen some necessary use, once for about 50 mi of snowpacked interstate in CO. Been watching my seals ever since…
