now this one has tempted me a lot, I’m always unsure but very curious, I’d guess it doesn’t get in the way of much but I really don’t know.

I recently installed the under the hood mount from @4x4TruckLEDs.com and a dual ARB compressor - Pictures are on my build journal. Very happy with it.

Although I have AUX switches as well, I opted to install the switch under the hood, next to the compressor. IMO, it was easier and I would rather control the compressor at the compressor vs. having to go inside the truck. Very simple.

@Mountains2Metal makes a switch/chuck mount and dual compressor mount for their rear cargo molle panel. I’ve seen it in action, super nice.

I'd go with our KR Off-Road compressor kit with either an ARB Compressor or the UDA. It's the easiest compressor mount to install. You don't have to relocate any factory components and it bolts in quickly and easily. We knock out installations in about an hour at our shop (less if we do a UDA since it does not require messing with a switch wire)

Honestly for the price the UDA is FANTASTIC. It's actually currently what we're using on our own demo truck. We took out the ARB to test fit the UDA and run some tests and liked it so much, we're still rocking it.

You can save a TON of money going with the UDA and honestly it's VERY similar to the ARB, just with a better price point and longer warranty. The UDA also has a built in switch so you don't even need to use an upfitter.

UDA is popping up all over now and giving ARB a run for their money.

I still love ARB products, but honestly with how everybody is shifting manufacturing to China you'll see more and more "comparable" products hitting the market soon.

Plus our kits are 15% off. You can go with the ARB or UDA and get 15% off the entire kit on our site this week.

Give the UDA a shot. For the money you're going to love it I bet. Our bracket also works with many cold air intakes as well

I do love this, but I’m still worried that the CAI I want won’t fit with either (Mishimoto) I’m always looking for pictures and trying to find one with both but it’s not as easy as you’d think 😂.
Also does this connector touch the hood? Or is that any concern?

Get a different CAI then. I honestly don't like Mishimoto because they just copy peoples products. They copied Swarfworks license plate bracket which is made in the USA (theirs is not).

We've had many people run a CAI and not had issues. I think there's maybe only one CAI that has fitment issues based on what 1 single customer said. Out of over a thousand of these out there, not one customer (other then the one in that other post) has reported an issue. So Mishimoto could work just fine.

The only one I heard doesn't work is the AFE Momentum GT on a 2.7 that 1 customer reported issues with.

Can I interpret this as the UDA will fit on anything the ARB fits on? Going with tire carrier mount, but hadn't purchased the compressor yet. All anyone ever demos is the ARB.

KIND OF.

So they have a lot more mounting bolts on the back of theirs then ARB (ARB has 8 and the UDA have 12).

Some of the mounting points on the UDA are the same as on the AIR, and some are not.

So if you have a bracket that only has 4 holes (for an ARB), you'll only have 3 that match up with UDA. That's how our current KR Off-Road brackets are. 3 mounting points are used instead of 4. And that is MORE then sufficient.

It also depends on the flexibility of the bracket. Our bracket was designed with extra mounting holes, to give people the opportunity to mount different compressors in different ways. Other mounts may not be as flexible. So it really comes down to the actual mount itself.

With our mount, you can mount an ARB Single, Twin or a UDA without issues. I can tell you that.

We sell the UDA compressors here (and they are currently 10% off): https://www.4x4truckleds.com/uda-egoi-permanent-on-board-dual-motor-air-compressor-system-6-1cfm/

I have the dual ARB with the Grimm mount in my Wildtrak. Easy to install, switch is right next to the compressor. You need to open the hood so having a switch in the interior is not helpful. I open the hood, hook up the line and switch the compressor on. Fills up the tires quickly after deflating for off road use.
Very happy with my install.

I have their setup, and no, it doesn’t touch the bottom of the hood. I have the under-the-hood sound deadening too. When you install the ARB compressor, you can angle the connector - I did this so it wasn’t sitting straight up.

I was referring to the UDA I know ARB tilts but all photos of EDA are straight up.

UDA doesn’t tilt and if your hood has sound dampening material the coupler will tough a tiny bit - nothing to worry about

Looking into ordering an air compressor during the 4th of July sales. Does anyone have any input on ARB vs UDA? I have aux switches so the on unit switch isn’t necessarily an issue. Also I know I can mount under the hood, does that interfere with future CAI or catch can installation? Specifically @Mishimoto I’m not interested in mounting in the tire carrier personally but does anyone have any trunk/bed mounts they like or have considered? I’m trying to avoid having it just in a box in the bed.
I have the ARB Dual Compressor mounted under my hood. Purchased from 4x4TruckLEDs.com as many have here. They have good sales, fast delivery and stand behind their stuff; they’re the tits!

Under the hood is just nice and hidden, went with ARB because I figured it would handle high heat well, and got the inflate kit.

Had it professionally installed to my 15 amp upfitter. Used the KR Offroad bracket and wiring. There were a couple of small pieces missing for heat shrink I think, but that‘s why I let a shop do it And their install was reasonable.

Get whichever compressor you want that fits your budget, but definitely recommend installing to save space and time.

4x4 TruckLED kit is awesome, fast shipping, good sales, and quality packaging. Out of sight and super solid. It's behind the air box so I'm not sure how or why it would interfere with any air box mods.

Installation couldn't be easier (once you cut off all the other air locker stuff), just connect a positive trigger wire and main power/ ground.

I built a 4-way deflate/ inflate set-up to go along with it.

Yeah super easy. You just need the purple wire off the small harness as a trigger (wired to ANY upfitter).

The Mishimoto CAI will not fit with the KR offroad underhood mount. It will work with the Roush CAI, but that is because it still uses the stock airbox.

I know this because I just replaced my Roush CAI with the Mishimoto CAI (along with their charge pipes and a whipple intercooler) and my underhood KR offroad twin ARB compressor mount would not work. The install video from Panda Motorworks shows the fitment issues at minute 3:15:

I relocated the compressor to a molle panel in my cargo area.

With that said, the KR offroad mount was great. Easy to install and looked great.
