lol, I dont think after All this time that ADV is going to give you a straight answer, they are just trying to protect there investment at this point as they string people along..
I saw the writing on the wall a year ago, Im Not surprised that it finally came crashing down....a few of us kept warning buyers but a lot wanted this top so bad that they were blind to ADV's hyperboles, "its delayed but will be on its way next month" continuum scam..

No skin in the game personally, but why not shout into the void:

1) I feel bad for people who did not request refunds, but not for the reasons you think. If you're here reading this thread, you were warned about getting burned. Is anyone really shocked that this is how it turned out?

I do feel bad for people who aren't on the forums and believed the (few) updates they probably received.

2) Based on the details of the agreement between the two companies (screenshot posted here a page or two back), it really sounds like this wasn't a 50/50 partnership. It sounds like ADV paid some/all of the costs with an expectation to split some/all of the profits. Unfortunately for them, the wording sounds like ADV willingly handed over all commercial rights, patent rights, and the basically the entire farm in exchange for APG to produce/provide the tops for them.

Was there an agreement to produce X number of hardtops by X date? A guarantee that they would, or a determination of what would happen if they didn't?

At this point, we don't know a lot of the facts but it sounds like the financial risk was all on ADV. They took the money from potential customers and were the face of the project. APG may have also had financial buy-in, but not necessarily a duty to produce tips or fulfill orders. If it fell apart, they might be out money too... but it sounds like they'd still hold the rights to the product based on what was in that agreement. If ADV didn't have basic terms to protect themselves from tops not being produced... That's just bad business sense.

But hey, there's no past evidence of the people running ADV having bad business sense, right? :censored:

I really hate this happened to everyone. Makes me very grateful I went with Anderson Composites instead. I didn't have to pay anything until it was delivered at @Middleton Motorsports . John and ADV strung everybody alone this whole time. Doing videos specifically attacking their competitors to persuade people from not ordering those hard tops and waiting for theirs because it's 'so much better'. I always thought that was a dick move on his part. Unfortunately, his poor business decisions are probably going to put him out of business.

Guessing orders for Anderson, Armadillo, and Turn Off Road are about to hit the roof. Would be nice if they could provide a discount for those affected by this horrible circumstance.

I am so sorry for everyone who was scammed. I have been sitting and watching this unfold and I am very curious to see what kind of response APG will release... I have the ADV 5" fenders on my bronco and I really like them. I had a good experience with customer service, etc. Since I post about them I had a few people reach out to me about this and just... wow. Since I have a small bit of legal experience I went down the rabbit hole and read the lawsuit filing and saw the video. I was shocked when I started reading about how much money was being passed around with such a loose agreement...over 4 million dollars! John is so young; I believe that he is under 30 years old, and the video felt so very "shot gun" with repeating statements about this "sucking." It is pretty obvious that they do not have a PR team and/or got some bad advice on releasing am sure he is going to read this and my empathetic self is still feeling bad about that but after doing more digging I can't help but feel like both entities really took advantage of a group of people who just love their cars and wanted to spend the money, despite any warnings. I GET it, I have spent so much on my Bronco, this could have easily happened to any of us.

With some more digging I was able to find this from the previous family business, Glassworks.... is this something that they have done before?

I know that my empathy is coming from having a small business owner father, but this is not okay, and my dad has not ever preyed on hundreds (approximately 800) Bronco enthusiasts. ADV needs to do the right thing and pay the money back.

If you do plan on taking legal action, I would caution you from engaging in class-action lawsuits as you will likely see pennies because these types of lawsuits only benefit the lawyers. I am sure there are already a few hungry lawyers that are rubbing their palms together.... you all deserve 100% refunds, not anything less!

Video looks like it was already taken down lol. TBH, that’s pretty quick to make a video on it already. Nobody really knows anything for sure
I couldn’t watch the whole thing.
“Here I am in 2022 telling you I smell the bullshit!”!
Then proceeds to order one in 2023. They got lucky and got out early enough.
