ADV Production Modular Hardtop!

While I really liked the look and features of the ADV hardtop I ordered back in May of 2022, I finally had to bail out in February of this year when I received another delay notice. In February I got on the wait list for a TOR hardtop and It seems like I made the right decision for me, since I just took delivery a couple of days ago. It took me and a buddy about 25 minutes to remove the soft top and install the TOR top. I Love the color and look and while I really wanted an ADV top with more options, I am very happy with my purchase. It looks great, and the built in sound deadening is a huge upgrade for highway driving. Shout out to Todd McNulty at TOR for all his help in getting me a hard top, finally. Also, I saved about $2000 overall from the ADV top I originally ordered.

when in feb did you sign up. i am a late feb signup with a scheduled shipment of 8/19. Todd is on vacation , but get with me Monday and said he would get me the details. I'm pumped

I’ve given Fabian props on that. Told him it was very smart and probably decreases their calls as we all see the updates and don’t have questions on progress.

I guess the big thing I’m getting at is not denigrating those that haven’t bailed on ADV yet. It’s not like they’re buying products from broncbuster

“Yeah that is understandable. I’m going to wait”

I don't advocate calling anybody an asshole, but until further notice, these tops are vaporware. And ADV may have some products people like, but the people behind the company have done shady things in the past with other companies.

Whoever said that, they're a prick. You didn't see me upvote that comment. But there's wreckage here, it ain't like it's barely over the line. They've held onto 100% payments in the thousands for years.

I've always said I hope the people who paid for these tops get what they paid for. Definitely would prefer not for anyone to lose any money. And we can always use competition for tops on the Bronco.

But the whiff of exit scam is real. Even @CTwaterfowler moved on to TOR, and I thought he'd wait til the bitter end because he really wanted their top.

The best case is I'm wrong. Otherwise, some people gonna be hurting and that'll suck.

It definitely seems suspect. I think people should really start worrying about scam status when refunds stop happening

Well, last month they announced they were going to stop doing refunds in lieu of deliveries (in July. NO August. September? What year...). There was some 30 day notice or something, so perhaps we're still in that period. But I was a little surprised they got that refund.

you are correct that i really wanted the adv 1 piece, BUT after the debacle with the weekly updates turning into 20 business day updates , turning into no updates, i figured that i had had enough. I remember in feb when I signed up on tor and got a shipping date of 8/19 that i thought that there was no way adv would drag out the delivery of their tops until then. BOY WAS I WRONG. here we are almost in august and monday i am expecting my details on my top status and STILL NOT 1 FRIGGING ADV TOP HAS SHIPPED. or at least nobody posted it shipped on 6g. I still believe adv is trying to get the tops shipped but that having CHINESE COMPANY dispute has tied their hands. remember the final assembly FA, which ended up on the various videos that the customer had to do. install rubber, install headliner, install wiper assembly. also they never posted the installation process on the order website, its coming soon. I really hope they start shipping, but i was never so relieved as to when i got my refund by wire transfer. the adv top is very beautiful, but the tor is also a fantastic top from what i hear from all the 6g posters . I am really looking forward to getting it on my bronco.

Rally Tops started making there tops shortly after ADV started to take orders. They have been Quietly making tops since early 2022. I'm glad I switched my ADV top to a Rally Top.

I though a year and a half ago all they were waiting for to ship was the weatherstripping? Supply chain issues with that.

Waiting on the rubber took too long, and a mistake was made, so it'll be another 18 years now before the tops are released out on their own. lol

More like total assembly by buyer. For the most money of any top and actually voids your warranty. Actually everything including washing it can void the warranty. Between the wait, lies, assembly, cost, and complete lack of warranty I question anybody's intelligence who buys one at this point
