We have said numerous times what the reason for the recent delay was in this thread. However the fact that more and more posts come in this thread, start to bury the old post. So to clarify, here is the current update:

We could have been shipping the tops back in May. However they were not dialed with foam injection and paint (This was the final assembly QC problems). We made the executive decision to dial in the process by investing MUCH more money and time in foam injection steel tools and other equipment.

The tops were technically acceptable back in May and was better than the OEM hardtop but we do not settle. We always need to ensure that we are very happy with the end product. Our level of detail and product development is unmatched by any other company out there. We never had any intentions of taking this long to develop and produce the hardtops. However, between supply chain delays (out of our control) and our dedication to perfection (Fixing QC issues) that has caused many, many delays.

So to put it in perspective, we could have either shipped products in May and dealt with potential customer complaints of product quality or we push out ship dates, dial in the quality and ship at a later date and produce happier customers from the quality. Yes, there are trade offs. We decided that although it will be tough to deal with angry customers because of another delay, it would be harder to deal with customers complaining about quality. So to summarize it, we are always chasing the best possible product. Some customers see that, others only see the delays which is fine. No further delays are in the equation, we are simply working through the final assembly process and taking care of a large backlog. If the customer wishes to wait (A little longer) then they will be happy once they receive the hardtop. If they do not wish to wait, then we are more than happy to offer a full refund.
I very much appreciate this explanation. I would rather wait and have you get it right instead of being an involuntary beta tester. I appreciate the dedication to build a quality product. I would have appreciated getting this explanation sooner. My anxiety level would have been much lower. I look forward to receiving my hardtop in January.

yup, i know off road is not up and running, thats why i will not do anything until I am sure they are .
i am monitoring then , watching to see the timing. looking forward to actually some shipments from them and hopefully positive reviews.
i hope as people on the forum receive their tops they will post pictures and reviews. I believe Andersson is shipping as I have seen comments on the forum to that extent, but thats basically the ford design, I believe with that many individual parts the chances of noise, leaks ,etc. increases and that is why its adv, then off road, then the soft top.
please post anything you get from either one so we can all be kept informed.

Found someone on CL selling their AC top here. So I guess AC indeed ship out their top.

That post looks sketchy as all out. Misspelled words, bad sentence structure, and most notably no picture of the ACTUAL TOP. If it's still in the crate, take a pic of it and add it to the post.

Scammers look on these forums just as users, see what's hot and what could pass as a high-value item, and here ya go.

If the ad is real, he should have no issues selling it.

Will you still look forward to receiving it in June?

We present to you the first ADV Modular production unit, VERY exciting! We can certainty say that we are beyond impressed and happy with the finished production unit. We are DEFINITELY giving Ford a run for their money. Production is moving along VERY quickly ever since we tested, validated, and approved the prototype for production.

We will be taking more content in the coming weeks! Please let us know if we can answer any questions, we are happy to help!

They can do an EFT or something along those lines, but they require your blood type, SIN, and your mother's maiden name. </s>
Just offer them a DNA donation :)

Looks a lot like all those scam Facebook Bronco group posts…

How many people got an email from ADV this week stating their top would be delayed until January?
I've seen a few people post about getting one, but I haven't heard a thing from them.
Just curious if this was supposed to go out to all who have ordered.

Nope, nothing yet. But remember. What is the definition of next week.
Last week. This is next week, however this week , next week is next week.
Yada,Yada and Yada.
I have a feeling your prediction of June is closer than January.
2nd
Anniversary Of order is coming up in Feb.
Also they had a nice presentation at the auto show.
I hope they fixed the labor issue

I did see an email response they sent on this thread to someone, and they mentioned the intent to send an email update to everyone this week. Any responses from ADV posted on this thread were solicited.

The lack of organic transparency is a problem for all of us. That post they sent awhile back was before the new "flavor of the week" issue of labor.

If they bump us one more time, I'm out. The only reason I'm still here is at this rate, if you leave now and get one from Turn Offroad, you'd probably get either one around the same time (assuming ADV actually follows through here.)

I know not a lot of slack is being cut now, but I'll point out that a few months ago the problem was getting better equipment to deal with production issues (I think it was injection molding equipment?). The labor issue now may be that they have this new equipment, but not enough (or anyone) trained in how to operate it. Which also can explain why they continue producing other products. Just sayin'.
