As much as I agree with what you're saying, and would LOVE more transparency from @ADV Fiberglass, if the past several months have taught me anything, it's that that is NEVER going to happen. (In their defense, for the first few months of this debacle, they seemed to be pretty forthcoming, but the past several months have seemed like the most covert operation ever).

When all you hear is "it's no big deal. Don't worry about it", guess what?
It's a BIG deal and you should worry about it.

Like others have said, I feel kinda' caught in the limbo of letting them keep my money and hoping for the best, or asking for a refund and going to the back of the line elsewhere.
(I think they are counting on this to keep buyers on the line as well. If Anderson had a 30 day turnaround right now, @ADV Fiberglass would be in big trouble).

Also, because I don't think we will ever get real answers as to what caused these delays and what exactly the quality issues entailed, I feel like I'm always going to be waiting for the other (defective) shoe to drop even after I get the thing.

And finally, for the love of Dog, how have we STILL not seen one byte of evidence the sound-deadening/headliner even exists???
More excellent points.
You guys are capturing my feelings exactly.
The stated 24 week wait at AC, is styming adv cancelations.
I wonder what adv is telling prospective customers.my two friends are not going to order one until they see mine.
Does this classify me as an influencer and therefore bump up my scheduling

If Turn Offroad gets a hard top in the market soon, ADV will be in trouble.
https://www.bronco6g.com/forum/thre...ffroad-oem-hard-top-cut-in-half.77794/page-10
Sounds like they are trying to be the "Anti-ADV"...
"We're hoping for a late October/ early November release date. (Barring any unforeseen supply delays). The reason we're not doing any renderings for presales is because we don't want to take any money/ deposits until we have a working product that's been tested and is ready to be produced.
Since the original posting the decision has been made to build the tops totally in house rather than contracting out certain parts of the process which has added some complexities to the project, we should be finished with our molds by the end of this month. We will definitely be making a big splash when we have photography and video to show. "

Shots fired!

they are currently dishonest. nothing else to call them when they aren't forthcoming to customers who have already given them money.

literally insane how they keep touting the product as if it was released a year ago.

"12 week delivery"... for the last 104 weeks

I wonder how many are actually close to moving on from their Bronco all together (after the newness has worn off) while waiting?

It seems ADV went silent for a while, and the only thing that got them talking about their tops again was the announcement of the Armadillo, top. Which seemed to put ADV into hyper mode and the closest to a delivery yet.

Then they hype died down, its obvious that theres not going to be any Armadillo tops delivered any time soon either so ADV went back to rest mode.

I'm curious to see how fast Armadillo starts turning things out. They did the fab on my Raket roof rack, and there was only a 1-week hiccup to correct an issue with some rivnuts. They were extremely clear with communication.

I spoke with Armadillo about their top delivery time, near the end of last month. They told me if I ordered in early Oct, I would have it the 2nd week of Dec.

I am truly tempted to pull the trigger.

@ADV Fiberglass:

I am about at the end of my rope.

Thousands of dollars up front, many many months ago. An email in May proclaimed, in effect, HERE THEY COME!

it's October 11, and besides a few videos, which have since gone silent, there is nothing of any kind to explain what is going on - or even a general timeline. It's hard to tell if you're on a good path to producing these tops, or still just trying to figure it all out. I can't even tell if this has urgency on your side.

I shouldn't have to reach out to you for the information; you should come to us with it. Note that you have prospective customers watching this thread and seeing it spiral. It's a very bad look for your business.

An honest update is necessary. Whether through this forum, or to your paid customers via email.

Thx.

The fact that the forum mods are allowing them to remain on here speaks volumes as to whether their priority is the users or sponsors. Sure, the sponsors pay the money but without the users they would not be here.

Why aren't you guys filing BBB complains against @ADV Fiberglass? I can't imagine any one of you will be a repeat customer for anything from them, even if they eventually deliver? That may prompt them to provide some update.

Same here. Would like to see more pics and info but like the idea of a solid top

We have said numerous times what the reason for the recent delay was in this thread. However the fact that more and more posts come in this thread, start to bury the old post. So to clarify, here is the current update:

We could have been shipping the tops back in May. However they were not dialed with foam injection and paint (This was the final assembly QC problems). We made the executive decision to dial in the process by investing MUCH more money and time in foam injection steel tools and other equipment.

The tops were technically acceptable back in May and was better than the OEM hardtop but we do not settle. We always need to ensure that we are very happy with the end product. Our level of detail and product development is unmatched by any other company out there. We never had any intentions of taking this long to develop and produce the hardtops. However, between supply chain delays (out of our control) and our dedication to perfection (Fixing QC issues) that has caused many, many delays.

So to put it in perspective, we could have either shipped products in May and dealt with potential customer complaints of product quality or we push out ship dates, dial in the quality and ship at a later date and produce happier customers from the quality. Yes, there are trade offs. We decided that although it will be tough to deal with angry customers because of another delay, it would be harder to deal with customers complaining about quality. So to summarize it, we are always chasing the best possible product. Some customers see that, others only see the delays which is fine. No further delays are in the equation, we are simply working through the final assembly process and taking care of a large backlog. If the customer wishes to wait (A little longer) then they will be happy once they receive the hardtop. If they do not wish to wait, then we are more than happy to offer a full refund.

My 2 cents....people just want to know you haven't abandoned them. Even if its just a weekly check-in from you guys to re-state the same stuff, would still be better than going radio silent. Just say....Hey guys, happy Friday....here's a few things we worked on this week...etc. Again, I know that would make me feel better...and its only my opinion.

Agreed.
I know @ADV Fiberglass had stated in the past that they did not want to broadcast any more expected ship dates because they just lead to more irritation, but a weekly "Hey guys, we are currently on target for our October shipping date" or "currently we are two weeks behind our planned shipping schedule" would go a long way for me personally. (As opposed to checking in myself every couple weeks, only to be given the same old "final assembly... happy to refund..." corporate line).
I also think a lot of us here are wondering exactly what the shipping plan is as well.
What number of tops have to be shipped at once, what's the expected delivery time, once shipped, etc.?

Thanks @ADV Fiberglass for coming back on here and providing an update.
Whiny as we can be, we do appreciate it.
Now, can we get a glimpse of the headliner/sound-deadening?
