0.8% is incorrect for the Ford Ranger - the decimal place is wrong. The actual number is 8.0% for US and Canadian parts combined.
If true, that’s quite a drop. In 2020, they were at 85% which at the time was the highest in the US. (Per TFL)

Are sure you’re not reading that wrong? Maybe 80% domestic parts is what you saw. The V6 is made in Ohio. That alone equals more than 0.8%.

Quick googling and reading shows ...

Apparently, the current stickers on the new ones read 08% .
Notice there is NOT a decimal, so 8%. That extra zero is freaking some folks out.

The bitch about it is, in 2020 the Ranger was the MOST American made vehicle with 70 or 80% domestic parts.

Idk, if you ask me, which no one did, I'd guess that some dislexic idiot typed that up and it should've been 80%. But you guys believe what you want to.
Just looked it up on the NHTSA website. It’s 8% for the Ranger.
2024 AALA Listed Alphabetically

Ford Bronco - 18%
Ford Bronco Sport - 20%
Ford Ranger - 8%

Looks like if you want a vehicle with mostly American sourced parts, you should buy a Honda.

Precisely why, as a veteran, I only buy :
Broncbuster, he only sources us made parts and that’s never up for negotiation
Adv/apg because its us made
Archtype. I think its Union made with all the delays. The fact it may never be made, means it’s not being made overseas either

Or a Ford Mustang - 60% (although every Honda was 50-75%)
