generally yes, but when supposedly all the beta tops are great and the customers are/were clamoring for hope you would think they would have released more positive info

Here’s what that one beta tester said earlier in this thread:

When I went to pick up the proto-top (see what I did there) back in Sept, I asked if I could share photos, tag them, comment on threads like this etc. and they told me no.

We probably would’ve seen more posts shared about the prototypes but ADV didn’t want it to happen.

Kidding aside, ADV needs to come clean and be honest with their customers, they outsourced the hardtop to a supplier and have lost control of their kickstarter.

I set a hard date to ask or a refund back in September that if they didn't start shipping by end of October I'd get my refund. I stuck to it and now I'm happily enjoying my hardtop from another vendor. The stress and disappointment was too much. Gave them every opportunity even up to the last second to tell the truth and give me a reason not to cancel. They couldn't do it! It is telling how quickly they give refunds to get you off their back. If everyone asked for a refund now they wouldn't be able to pay and a lot of buyers would be out of luck. I feel for you holdouts. Stuck between wishful thinking and a hardplace. I'm sure it will happen this time in March

I understand everyone's hesitancy. The top looks amazing in concept. I kept putting it off time after time for nearly a year but enough was enough especially when you can get an AC or TOR delivered.

BTW that carbon fiber AC looked sweet!

The adv top looks very elegant, attention to detail. The problem is dealing with China, outsourcing your product beyond your control point. Companies never seem to learn. At least in Mexico, you can visit easily and have face to face.
And you are not dealing with an adversarial govt

I finally cancelled. Over a year wait and the only communication was me calling them, every time.
Now I need to decide on one of the other manufacturers but I,m feeling a lil gun shy after all the waiting (not even including the wait to get the Bronco).

If you are on the fence, immediately get on the TOR website or call them so you get in line. No deposit required you only have to pay right before it ships. You can always decide to change your mind and go with an AC, Armadillo, or even back to ADV if they ever get their act together.

I know your angst, I'm in the same boat, 2yrs on 2 28. Am now scheduled for beginning on March, which is OK if it happens.
I just love the 1 piece and don't want to cancel and find out I was too quick.
I really understand people bailing, especially when I see them getting their tor tops and the communication they get re updates.

I know your angst, I'm in the same boat, 2yrs on 2 28. Am now scheduled for beginning on March, which is OK if it happens.

With rising interest rates - 2 years would be roughly $330 in interest at 4% interest with a $4,000 purchase price.

They're making a lot on the float alone.
