I’m only 1 month into owning my first Heritage 2 door Manual Bronco. I‘m installing my first mod this weekend which is a Twisted Shifter. The install is easy, I’m wanting to also add this metal lockout. What is the process for installing this? How does the material attach to this lockout?. Is the overall installation fairly simple?

I thought the twisted shifter knobs hook to the shift shaft differently than the OEM/Boomba/AR knobs, also I thought twisted shifter had their own metal lockout available.(after reading I think it's only the adapter that is metal, and you reuse the oem lockout- in which case, this lockout will fit)

Process is easy for OEM/Boomba/AR knobs and lockout. Install guide: https://www.redlinegoods.com/Bronco21installMT.pdf
Just don't do step 6 unless you are also replacing the boot

I'm still a little confused (which isn't difficult). Who do I send the money to? Also it's plus shipping and handling? What are those charges?

This is reply I got, shipping from Ohio to Ohio:

"$100 plus $25 shipping. Will run this through PayPal for invoicing and payment

That's a little high for shipping. A small flat rate box from USPS is $11.00 for shipping anywhere in the US.

@CalvinT
it's packaged with love. I'm with the understanding that this is no mass produced part, and that affects costs accordingly. I think it would be different if they were doing a couple thousand, and multiple makes and models. But this is a specific part for 1 vehicle, of which I think only 10% of production broncos are manuals. I'd say they will sell 20 here, and maybe more if they sell on ebay. I really don't know. I thought I was going to aquire one from AR, but that's not happening. I would be willing to bet that anyone that got an AR knob would want this, but I don't know how many people actually got one delivered.

I thought about the AR knob when it was announced. But I started paying attention to how I pulled up the lockout lever. I didn't like the AR lockout lever design. I like the stock configuration better.

Playing devil's advocate here.

AR claimed the Ford part was likely to break leaving you without reverse and crawler gears. That was part of his sales pitch for his shift knob over someone else's. But I don't remember seeing any posts on Bronco6G or TheBroncoNation where someone commented on the Ford part breaking.

I just ran this by ChatGPT. It suggested replacing the stock part with the aluminum part if a vehicle is kept long term. It also pointed out that keeping a spare Ford part in the glove box would expose it to the same temperatures, so it would also gradually degrade.

I'm wondering what alloy is being used. Some alloys show tarnish quite quickly.

We are using ups to ship them so it’s a little more expensive. We don’t want them to get damaged in shipping.
