My wife's OBX just hit 5009 miles, and she agrees.

I’m at almost 15K. Yes, I would buy again, only difference would be I’d probably opt for a Raptor, they weren’t available when I bought the first time.

Coming up on 5200 miles on the 2024 bare-boned Big Bend 2-door 2.3L 7MT. Aside from some nigglies like emergency brake switch placement, goofy "gauges" on the dash screen and poor interior lighting, I really like what will likely be my last new vehicle. Averaging just under 22MPG, and the mileage increases as the engine breaks in. It's a head-turner in my little town. After 25 years of Jeep Wrangler ownership, this is really the only comparable platform out there: short wheelbase, full-framed, manual transmission, etc. Sure, I'd do it again, but not for any more than what I paid for it last November at full MSRP.

I'm optimistic I'll feel the same in 1200 miles though a lot can happen between now and then. Kinda wish I'd gone 2 door manual but ain't unhappy!

Reserved day 1, ordered early 2021, finally delivered in early 2022. Went through a full year of angst, frustration, anger, broken promises and resentment waiting for it to show.

Would it do it again... F**K YEA!

How about this for a story?

Sometime in 2021 (don't exactly remember the month) I drove by the only dealership in town (on the way to town one must drive by it). Something caught my eye.....an orange Bronco! Nice, I thought. I've heard they are coming out. I proceeded to town, did my business, and on the way back I stopped at the dealer to check it out. I knew they are coming out, but I didn't know anything about trims, engines, equipment, etc.

This dealership doesn't jump on you as soon as you drive on the lot, and I was left to just walk around this thing, and I liked it. I walked over to the showroom and asked for the desk manager. "How much do you want for that thing?" I asked him (my check book was throbbing with excitement in my pocket). "Sorry,." he said, "we can't sell it for three months according to Ford, it's like promotional thing". "Well,....." I said, "here is my number, call me in three months, and I'll write you a check."

I was mildly disappointed. See,....I owned two dealerships in the 90s, and I never heard anything like it. But back then there was no COVID, and "broken supply chains", or anything like that. So, I left without calling the owner.

About six weeks later, I was driving to town again, and "my" Bronco was not there! I drove right onto the lot and went straight to the manager's office. "Where is MY Bronco!?" He was apologetic, telling me that there was nothing he could've done, for the owner of the dealership gave it to his brother. Ain't that nice (I shoulda called the guy!).

Anyway,.........four years later wife tells me she would like a four door, hardtop Sahara, and a local dealer has one on the lot, in "her" color, and less than 5000 miles on the clock. OK,...so we go to buy that Sahara. But,........there is a WHITE Bronco by the front door, and I haven't seen one like it before. It has something called "Sasquatch" package on, it's called "Outer Banks", and it has over 11K addons on it plus "lux package" (the orange one from four years ago didn't have any badges! WTH is "Outer Banks".....does it swim....can I sail it over Atlantic?). It's also a little lifted. Look good, but WHITE? I looked closer, and low and behold! I found pieces of orange "tape" in some nooks and crannies.

"What's this?" I asked a helpful salesman (the manager I dealt before was long gone they told me). "Well,...." he said..."this was the owner's brother's Bronco, and it was originally wrapped in orange, as a promotion from Ford, back in 2021. The original owner brought it back and took a new Raptor. We have it on the lot now for two months, but nobody looked at it when it was orange, and we peeled the wrap, so now two-three people a day look at it. Look....." he said, ..."the guy put Camburg suspension, lockers, gears......." he was droning on , but I was SHOCKED! This was "MY" Bronco that got away four years ago! Of course I had to have it.

I sold thousands of cars "back in a day" (well.....quite a few personally, but my dealerships sold thousands), and my wife was easy to manipulate into switching from Sahara to Bronco (she's in LOVE with "her" Bronco........but it's MY Bronco from 2021!).

It's a true story. Got it with less than 14K on the clock. It's never been on trails. Looks, drives, and feels new. Wife already put 3K on it. Previous owner likes to impress people in the next small town over where he lives. Likes to "build" them (all parts and equipment at dealer's cost) but doesn't do much with them.

I don't drive it much either. I just like to look at it. It was meant to be.

Sorry about the long story. Looks like I wrote a novel here.

July 13th? No way it took 2.5 years if you truly had a “Day 1” reservation. Too often “Day 1” is misused here.
Yes way! I had at one point 5 out of the 7 constraints. My dealer several times would call and asking me if I wanted to change my order so I can get it MAYBE sooner. I’m old didn’t care how long it took. Just wanted what I wanted.
Bronco was built December 7, 2022. It finally got to the dealer first of February 2023 flew to Alabama to pick it up. Had a great road trip home.
