Among the take aways is how the Ford's AWD (aka "4A") system is "preemptive" - not reactive based on wheel speed sensors inferring "slippage" - and how there is no fuel mileage penalty engaging it...

Not a contradiction. Like I said, binding happens when I use 4A even after switching to 2H. Binding does not happen when 4A is not used during a start cycle. I’ve got about 70k miles with this vehicle, so I have some idea about how it behaves. Again, like I said, there are no problems with binding until 4A is engaged. I’m sure the problem is somewhere in the windshield wipers, though.

It’s perfectly fine for dry pavement, they make that very clear.

There’s broncos with 100k+ mileage that use 4A daily. Simply using it had nothing to do with your concern or failure.

For what it’s worth, I got my bronco back yesterday. The transfer case failed. Replaced under warranty, and took a few days to get the parts in. Everything is working like expected bringing it home yesterday. Good luck!

Once again you fail to realize the obvious.
Just because you have an issue with binding in 4A, doesn’t mean the failure had anything to do with using 4A on dry pavement, or at all.

The signal to noise ratio here has never been that good - it is better then other forums of course.

Without a thumbs down or "misinformation" rating, other posters can not indicate when someone is full of bullshite. The admins/owners here are not incentivized either, so threads just end up being what they are.

The bull around AWD ("4A") is pretty thick that is fer sur...
