2024 2.7 Procal install disabled voice command?

So checking to see if anyone else has this problem. I had the 2024 Procal installed by a dealership, and I just noticed today that the voice command or assistant doesn't work anymore. Instead, it goes straight to the settings screen on Sync. I also noticed that the voice command help (bottom on the shot below) is now disabled.

Any ideas on how I might fix this myself? I couldn't find anything on here, and the only dealer that would install the tune is 1.5 hours away... TIA

First - I didn't even know Sync had a voice assistant.

Second - ProCal ~shouldn't~ have anything to do with Sync.

Third - If, for some reason ProCal did remove voice assistant, it wouldn't be the first time ProCal has just decided to remove a feature without any real warning

I would just take it into your regular dealer, I don't think it has anything to do with ProCal - more likely a random OTA update did something funny. But - you should have the ProCal box/dongle - you can use that to remove/reinstall the tune anytime you want (now that it's been installed once you have your warranty coverage and don't necessarily need to do that for subsequent installs)

Yeah I agree with @Brian_B. Especially the first part—I too had no idea Sync had a voice assistant.

But yeah ProCal shouldn’t have touched your voice settings—completely different module. There is a possibility that your dealer (or your Bronco by itself) installed another software update completely unrelated to the ProCal that impacted functionality on some way.

Mine stopped working after a software update a while back, ended up being a actual hardware issue. Alexa and Ford voice command both stopped working correctly, the voice command button on the steering wheel also did nothing.

It’s hard to tell what’s going on sometimes. With 2 iphones fighting for dominance, and with carplay on the phones off, but phone(s) connected, I can’t tell whats what. It seems like voice assist is trying to use phone data, but since the only thing I used to use voice assist for was changing the radio station and now just using XM, I don’t know.
