2-Door Wind Noise (Observation & Looking for tips & tricks)

I've have a late 2022 Base (white if that matters).

I have found that I get a wind-noise/leak sound on the driver's side if I leave the windows open a few inches for a few hours (on the driver's side specifically) if the Bronco is out in the sun on an 90+ day... AND THEN close the windows and drive.

After the windows are up for awhile (out in the sun)... everything seems to re-seat back to no noise & no leaks.

Anybody else experience this?

On another matter... there always appears to be a wind noise on the passenger side... and it sounds like its right in back of the passenger seat. Not a leak-noise... just a wind noise (if that makes sense).

Anybody figure out how to get this to go away, or at least minimize (without turning the stereo up!)

I have noticed that temperature changes must expand and contract the roof and or seals enough that I get new noises, wind , creaking, and rattles as seasons change. For me it always turns into an Easter egg hunt trial and error trying to track down the ever changing noises.

You're not crazy. I hear this same noise. What I believe to be the culprit is the seal where the two front panels and the rear clamshell meet. That strip of rubber sometimes is not seated flush creating an air gap or turbulence zone which we perceive and windnoise. I'll squish it flush and the noise reduces. Typing this out I think I might toss some painters tape over it one time to see if I'm right.

If your panels don't sit flush all the way around, don't be afraid to adjust all of the mounting bracket locations. I went for a couple of years without doing anything and just living with wind noise, and finally adjusted all of the brackets. While there's no getting away from the typical wind noise of a convertible, it did cure the random noises that are not typical. Every singly one of the brackets required tweaking.

If you haven’t recently cleaned and lubed your roof seals, that’s a good first step to cut down on wind noise.

Panels off, gently wipe down the seals on the front pillar, panels, and front of clamshell with a damp microfiber. Avoid heavy friction. Wipe dry with a clean one. Where the seals touch the underside of the hard panels, clean the contact lines on the panels the same way. You don’t need to be as delicate with the panels.

With everything clean and dry, apply a thin coat of Sil-Glyde to all seals. A little goes a long way. I put little dabs on my finger and place a dot of it every few inches along the seal. Then I run my finger up and down the seals to spread it evenly until the whole seal shines.

This maintenance will help quiet roof squeaks/creaks over bumps and wind noise on the road. Also the reduces the odds of rain leaks and extends your seal lifespan.

How often you need to do this depends on how often you run with roof panels off. Road dust getting on the seals makes them less effective at sealing.

It also helps find sporadic water leaks you may have in the roof caused by ripped seals! Super fun! /s

Are you hearing this passenger side noise from the drivers seat only ? Usually if there is noise from one side it's the other side that hears it more distinctly, just the way sound travels behind your head to the other persons ear. It probably is coming from both sides. If you have already sat in the passenger seat and determined that is where the sound is actually originating from then disregard this post, lol.

In regard to hearing it from some other place in the Bronco... the wife doesn't/won't drive my Bronco, and my arms and legs aren't long enough to drive from the passenger side (LOL).

My daughter has a Bronco... and next time she visits I'll let her drive mine and sit in the passenger-side and let you know. She drives a 4-door, so I can't ask her about 2-Door noise.
