I passed the 3 year ownership threshold in October and wouldn't you know it... found a spot where the top is separating along the edge today. Honeycomb wet inside. I'm assuming this wouldn't be covered with my extended warranty.

So the question is, what are the options for 2 door hardtop replacements? I have less than zero interest in replacing this with another MIC (unless it's free).

Is Ford going to be selling the Modular top for 2 dr? TurnOffroad going to making a 2 door version?

Armadillo is leader in the clubhouse right now, I suppose. Looks good. A little scared about ordering one without seeing it in-person.

You can order the MOD top from any dealer. Hope you have a healthy pocketbook though. It would probably be twice the price of the Armadillo top all said and done.

Ford will likely never sell it as a complete package.

If I was in the market, I’d go with Armadillo

Have you tried ti get it covered by warranty? You have nothing to loose by asking them to cover it?
I haven’t. Just found the problem today. The cutoff is 3 years 36k, is it not?

Kinda like this? Mine too. I’m gonna try to get it warrantied. I only have a few months left to get it in. I would pay extra to upgrade it to the modular but I doubt ford would go for it….armadillo is the only one that offers something for 2 doors.

yes, I believe the warranty is three years, but you’re just outside the warranty and a lot of companies would take care of something so obvious for the sake of goodwill.

This is true and it can’t hurt to ask. Ford does goodwill a lot of repairs sometimes. Especially ones right outside of warranty.

Yep, looks just like that.

I guess I’m going to take it up there tomorrow and make them tell me no. When that happens I’m going to hit it with some epoxy or something to try and seal it off. See if this thing will last until there are at least a few options on the table for the 2 doors.

Turn Off Road has stated that they will NOT make a 2dr top, since they say the market is too thin. Unless they change their mind (waving hand at these crappy OEM tops @Turn Offroad @TURN Todd 👈 👈 👈 ).

I think Armadillo has yet to produce the 2dr? Supposedly it's coming, though. But you might be waiting months/year or so? @Armadillo Designs

Earlier todoy, someone did say they managed to get 3M (?) vinyl to stick on their MIC top for two years, so as a bandaid, if it's leaking, might try that. Better/cheaper than going aftermarket soft top...?

Frustrating that 2drs get the shaft like this.

At least in theory, if it's just one part, you could just replace that one part (for thousands...). Meh. Stupid how much everyone wants for these tops.

If they do, see if they'll let you keep the old one for parts. Probably not (I think they have to reuse the windows), but also worth a shot.

You have two soft top options too, bestop and Havoc.

I got rid of my hard top and got the armadillo one for this reason exactly. My wife thought I was crazy for getting rid of my semi-functioning hard top. Threads like this make me sad to see, but justified.

I’ve had the Armadillo top for about 4 months now and I would never go back. It’s much sturdier, quieter, more modular, etc. the biggest downside is the wait time

Dude you live in TN. You could install a $ 1800 soft top full time. It’s a four season top from bestop. The best thing I ever did was ditch my hard top
