2.3 vs 2.7

Does the power difference between the two justify $ 3,000. Up charge. If a 2.3 can power a ranger , I’m sure it will push the little Bronco pretty well. Any thoughts.

Look at this thread from before they announced that you need to settle for the 4-cylinder if you want manual. Everyone wanted the 6, and now the tune has changed and the 4 is "good enough."

The cheap seats base crawl ratios of the 10A vs 7M is 48 :1 and 80:1.

Hard math isn't "rationalizing ", it's logical.

It's worth it. Better to have the bigger engine and not need it then to get the smaller engine and be wishing you got the larger one.

I laugh at people who want a V8 in this small suv. I also kinda cringe at the thought of a 4 cylinder. 2.7 it is lol.

I've got the 2.3L ecoboost in my 2016 Mustang... with a tune, intercooler, intake/exhaust, it's plenty quick - keeps up with (beats) stock Mustang GT's until about 75-80 mph ... however with that said... I'll be going with the 2.7 in the Bronco. It's a small price increase for a pretty substantial increase in power.

More like 302 or 351. One is a car motor beefy enough for a truck and the other is a damn good truck motor. With the extra torque.

That said I want the 2.7 but cant do an automatic(permanent clutch foot). So 2.3 7sp is it.

OP, this sounds like a question you have to figure out yourself. The 2.3 will work "plenty good" and gives you a manual option. The 2.7 is a more advanced engine with more power, automatic transmission is the only option.

The upcharge will come down to what is important to YOU, not anyone else.

My vehicle will be a 2.7 and eventually whatever the braptor has. I love power though and that is important to me.

You can’t really compare crawl ratios between an auto and a stick...the auto would have the lower “effective” crawl ratio in your scenario anyway, the way most people look at it (double the actual crawl ratio of an auto to compare).
