has anyone put 2"-3" Coil Spacers in and felt a difference in driving?

I'm literally about to install the Icon 3" Coil Spacers in my BB 2D and am scared if it would give it a rough ride and possibly give it problems down the road...

any experiences out there??

I don't know about how Icons feel on Broncos, but they feel so comfortable on Expeditions.

I believe Coil spacer will/can give you issues. Perch collars are the preferred method.

Just installed Ready Lift Spacers on my Base, and the truck rides well but feels like it's on it's "tippy-toes".

Light in the front, and I don't dare go hard into a corner because it doesn't feel as stable.

but aren't perch collar doing the same thing? the only thing I see that would help is adding new control arms

There is a video out there that talks about the differences between the two (sorry no link right now). I'm far from an expert But when you put a spacer up above the strut, it moves the entire assembly down which changes the angles of all your suspension, etc.

When you use a perch collar, it is just changing the preload on your spring and doesn't affect all the steering geometry as much.

Why are you going with that amount of lift without different UCA's?
What size tires are you planning on running?
Is this exclusively for on-road, both on and off-road, or a more extreme off-road capability?

If you are looking to lift it just to stuff big tires under there with plans to only assault the local mall parking lot, I would encourage you to use less lift.

i don’t understand what difference how a lift is accomplished makes any difference on handling? Perch collar may actually limit travel? They both move the suspension lower. I had a spacer lift on my f150 without issues. I am considering the zone spacer lift with upper arms to correct alinement...I don’t think any of the current coilover lifts actually increase articulation/travel so why spend the cash Unless ya actually are doing 80mph across the desert.

A perch collar lift does not lengthen the strut assembly over the stock length.
A spacer lift does lengthen the strut assembly.
Using the spacers for any lift over 1" level is not the best way lift an independent front suspension.
Keeping as close as possible to the factory(engineered) halfshaft angles and tie rod angles is extremely important......you can't do that with a big spacer lift(top and or bottom of strut) on an independent front suspension. The factory shocks just aren't engineered for the larger, or actually any lift.
A 2" perch collar lift is about the max you should go without adding new upper control arms that will allow more alignment adjustment to keep your alignment in specs.
I know "people do it all the time"....but that's not a good reason.
If you're just doing it for looks....go for it, but realize that the aforementioned axle and tie rod angles are extremely important.

It is pretty clear the Bronco front u joints and Tie rods can safely accommodate 2 1/2” more droop. Spring perch lifts do not take advantage of that extra travel/articulation, they only move the ride height to a lower position of the shock stroke Limiting overall suspension travel. My understanding is the zone system uses a combination of strut and perch spacers along with upper A arms to maximize lift, travel and alinement. But I am no suspension expert...
