You could have just ended your post with that quote right there.
LOL,

...
So a lot of manufacturers (a long time ago) just started putting “dummy” gauges on the cluster like this so people stop coming to dealerships asking why there gauge is at a certain temperature or readout even though it’s completely normal.
..
I get a lot of people asking me what do all the numbers on my gearshift knob mean and are they normal.

Also, the large majority of people driving vehicles have no idea what temperature or other numbers are even normal as far as the rest of the gauges.
I get that, but it doesn't take much to provide the "real" info using MyConfig. Regular users can have their vague bar graph or needle in the middle, and the more attentive people can have hard numbers. I like to keep an eye on temperatures during/after rock crawling, as I see owners of other vehicles (usually Wranglers) sometimes stop and prop their hoods to let their engines cool down. I don't think that's necessary with my Bronco, but real numbers help me see what changes actually happen. I guess my point is that it's easy enough to do and be set up so that the uninformed can stay uninformed 😄 , so why not? I guess I don't have to lament not getting the fully-digital display since I have the "smart gauges." :D

Don’t get me wrong, I totally agree that personally I’d like to see the actual numbers also.
I’m just saying, I can also see why Ford doesn’t do it.

Which I’m guessing is why the Braptor gauge has much more detail. In their minds, if you want all the performance information, then buy the performance model. You can’t be surprised that they try and put it behind a “pay wall” lol they aren’t dumb.

I'd also argue that if there are enough complaints about it, this is the type of thing they could add via a software update to add numbers to the gauges.
