There's limited information on this recall so far, but I would assume the small hairline cracks that most people see, wont be apart of this.
I think this is going after much larger cracks which cause delamination to the point where chunks may start flying off.
But we will see.
If by key fob sensing, you’re referring to the capability to just touch the door handle to unlock the vehicle without ever touching the key fob, yes.
The door latch opening. The window doesn’t drop until you actually pull the handle.
More than likely, yes. If you want it removed, you can always have your dealership contact SSSC. They should be able to remove from the system completely once proof is shown it was actually completed.
The factory hero “switches” in the bronco aren’t actual switches, It’s a module. So I don’t see a plausible way of making them work for something else.
I just looked, the FDRS software for 26S09 is available for all model years now. So I would bring it to your dealership and have them perform the update manually.
Probably going to need to bring it to your dealer so they can physically update the APIM.
Depending on your MY, they may not have the software for this recall yet, but it will fix the issue with it not being able to turn the automatic updates on.
Looks like the whole motor was ripped out also, so just the glass won’t help unfortunately.
The motor is available separately also though, just hard to tell what all has been exactly damaged from the picture.
It is well documented on here. Numerous people with the same concern who had it fixed after getting the rear driveshaft replaced, including me.
There is not any actual Ford documentation on this though, so you’re just going to have to explain the issue to them and that you’ve seen multiple...
Removed the actuator, and make sure the door still moves correctly. If it does, replace the actuator. If the door doesn't move correctly, the whole HVAC housing will need to come out and be disassembled.
Not really. Even to simply replace the actuator, the workshop manual says the whole dash...
