With all the FE res holders dropping out or ordering other trims, and now dealers listing FEs as inventory, I'm a tad miffed as I tried for 2 days to get one only to be shut out. I just emailed my sales rep asking what would happen if I resubmitted my order as a FE, what is he going to tell me?

I'm right there with you and decided to decline the free factory headliner and will wait to see what the aftermarket produces. Just like with wheels, I'm certain the AM will have products that are superior to the factory in both form and function.
