Oh yeah, my local Ford dealer loves to mark up thier vehicles. They received a $35k sticker price Base with no options and:
- Added $10k to the sticker price, now it's $45k.
- Sent it out and had about $3k worth of wheels/tires/small lift, then added another $10k to the price, now...
Ford Performance Blue paint option.
Lightning Blue is OK, Velocity Blue is great (and is what I ordered), but FPB is perfect to my eyes.
Pretty please, Ford??
More info on this, please?
Today I called the 800 number shown above as I want to change dealers. The person I spoke to referred me to the My Ford account to change dealers.
When I clicked on the Reservations & Orders > View Now link all I get is a new browser tab that is completely blank.
I saw the thread title and thought, "No that's not gonna look good, too gaudy".
I opened the thread and saw the pics.
I was wrong. The coated rings look good, like they could be a factory option.
Dealers are no better. A local dealer took a Base 4 door and added $10k to the sticker, then sent it out for wheels, tires, and a small lift and added another $10k. That's $55k for a no-options Base.
Then add about another 10% for tax and license? Presto, you have a $60k Base model! As a...
Same thing in my city. The local Ford dealer marks their Raptors up $30k and they still sell.
Paying that markup blows me away to this day. Do people not know they are just handing the dealer that money as pure profit on a vehicle the dealer is already making a profit on? Do they not know that...
They call that "forced perspective" to get something to appear to be a different size that it really is.
Also in the first pic the Bronco looks to be parked a foot or two forward of the FJ which will also make the Bronco appear to be larger. Interesting stuff.
The seller has a couple of shill bidders and is hoping a 3rd (real) bidder drops in at the last minute with a big money bid. Then the 2 shills drop out and the seller profits. Old eBay trick.
Today I went to my local Ford dealer to see if they had received their mannequin / demo yet. They had no idea what a mannequin is and told me there will be no Broncos produced until October.
It's always reassuring to get solid info from a knowledgeable dealer...
Maaaayyybe. But in my past experience with this dealer, probably not. This is the type of dealer that would tell you that in hope of you saying, "Oh, OK, I'll just buy a new F150 today then". This is also a dealer that ADMs just about all of their vehicles. Raptors on their lot go for $30k over...
Nope. Sorry, OP but I have to call BS on you taking delivery of a Bronco. Not an hour ago I was at a Ford dealer and was told that Broncos will definately not be available until late October.
Ugh... that dealership is constantly ridiulous.
Looks GREAT, now get get 'er dirty!
As much as I enjoy most of Doug's reviews, that one was a complete waste of time IMO. No engine, MASSIVE tires, and pretty much nothing that was going to be on a produciton vehicle?
I'm let down that Doug even published that video, but I'm sure he couldn't pass up the $s that came with the 4.5...
