Yeah we've had it about 10 years and it's been a great coach. Always fixing little stuff because it's so old, but it's built like a brick shithouse. Its a bit overkill for the two of us but we like having "house-like" roominess and amenities such as a full size shower and shitter. I'd like to...
Yeah there are breweries everywhere up there. I kept wanting to stop at some, but breweries tend to be a time-suck for me LOL. I've been to several of the ones that have been around for 25+ years but none of the newer ones since I hadn't been in that area since then.
The last day trip of our vacation was a bombing run through Yosemite National Park. You have to have reservations, which we didn't, so we got up early to get through the gates before they start checking, at 6:00 AM. We beat it by about 5 minutes :)
Here's Half Dome, from the...
After a few days in Lodi we moved one more time, down to Merced, where we checked into the Elks RV Park there. If anyone has any questions about camping at Elks and Moose lodges let me know. The one in Merced is very nice, with full hookups and pull-through spaces. After setting up we headed...
Next, we finally turned and headed south, starting the long trek back toward home.
But we had a few more stops to make along the way. First was in Lodi, my hometown, where we checked in to the Lodi Moose Lodge for a few days so I could show Steffie around my old stomping grounds. After...
Day 2 from Eureka we headed north again, to Redwood National Park and Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park. Steffie had been on the hunt for banana slugs since our first foray into the redwoods down at Pescadero, where I had kissed my first one back in 6th grade, but so far they eluded us. Sorry...
Next we moved north to the Elks Lodge at Eureka, CA. After getting set up we hopped in the Bronco for an afternoon trip out to the Samoa Dunes, out on the other side of Humboldt Bay, then went into Eureka for dinner.
On our first full day from Eureka Steffie wanted to head up to Oregon...
Our next basecamp was at the Benbow KOA, near Garberville CA, which would be our jumping off point for excursions into the Redwood state parks and the Lost Coast.
On our first full day of this leg we headed up to the Avenue of the Redwoods and the cool little towns of the Eel River valley...
My wife and I just got home from our 2-week summer vacation. Some of you might remember our summer road trips from last year and the year before, which were Bronco-only. This year we took the RV, with the Bronco in tow. For those interested, my RV is a 1998 Country Coach Intrigue with an 8.3L...
I have quite a few friends that have moved there from California. Look up Lance Clifford if you need an agent. He was one of the first CA refugees to move there and has helped quite a few of my friends find their perfect home. He used to own Pirate4X4 forums if you were in the off-road community...
I believe that was correct when they first came out but I haven't paid any attention to their model and option changes since then. I did hear something about a Sasquatch package but I didn't care enough to investigate LOL.
In my limited observation of them in action, a good driver can do some surprising things in a Sport. Especially if its a Badlands. That said, anyone who starts out with one and enjoys getting out into the backcountry should probably level up to a real Bronco at some point.
We have several on our forum and FB group, and I recall at least one reached out to me for run advice. I don't know whether she showed up though, as I wasn't on any of the runs that were Sport-friendly. We many different groups running different trails each day, a few of which were suitable for...
Thank you guys for coming to our event and helping make it a great one. I wasn't far behind you on John Bull that day. Drove it clean in my 2-door, as did my wife in her Early Bronco. We were a small group that came up behind the larger group that included Ron Chavez (the guy that flopped). They...
Yeah we dented the rocker panel a bit, but that was on a different trail (Holcomb Creek, in Big Bear). I don't have many photos from that particular trip down Rattlesnake gulch but we returned a year later with a bigger group to run it "on purpose" and I made a video of it. You can find it on my...
Well I've finally gotten this thing adjusted about as well as it can get. In my previous comment I talked about how the axis's of the tailgate hinge and tire carrier pivot points being out of phase causes the heims in the two turnbuckles to bind. I thought I might try fabricating some modified...
Regarding Item #5: you're doing it all wrong. The correct procedure is to leave the fob in your pocket, and then, just before leaving the house, go back inside for something you forgot, and out of habit hang the key fob on the key rack in the house. Then drive the RV, with Bronco in tow, a...
