I think that these tires will be very capable and will work well for what you described. The main factor that I see is how you approach your journeys. If you research your route and avoid extreme terrain you should be fine. My plan is to drive them and see how they perform and what the Bronco...
On launch night when I opened the Bronco site and I saw the BD with the steelies it was over! Kudos to Ford for offering something that is out of the norm. To the question of steelies or optional alloys, not even close. If I were to spend $1K I am getting some sweet aftermarket steelies...
Well, I was ready and then I had to entertain another possibility that leaves me trying to extricate myself from a rabbit hole. Please no update to B&P; I have already spent my budget and don't have the energy for additional scenarios. My goal is to finalize this thing tonight with a "phone a...
Still have not seen a decent pic of the side of the BD with Steelies, so I made my own. Apologies to the photographer for the crude photo edit. This helps me, in a small way, envision what the BD will look like.

Capable, practical and affordable. I keep experimenting with other builds and I always find my way back home.
I will proceed with my reservation and order and take delivery of my MY21 Bronco. My reason is not based upon whether certain items are available for the first MY but it is all about my comparison of the Bronco versus what else is available and coming available in the market. I did not start...
I will order the BD stock on the steelies. They aren't exactly like I would like but they will be fine as I get to know the vehicle. I would like a little more clearance but the Squatch is way more than I need or want. I have no doubt that Ford will offer a lift kit in Ford Performance Parts...
Thanks so much for this post. This is the best side view that I have seen showing the steel wheels. It provides a vey good idea of the proportions. Better than I expected and those General Grabber AT/X tires will provide great traction.
Just catching up and saw new thread; thanks so much, this is very helpful! I joined Team Leonardtown last month and my anxiety immediately went down. @NayNay is earning our business the right way and I totally appreciate the honest and straightforward approach.
Also, thanks so much @NayNay...
If we purchase the roof rack from Ford it mounts above the windshield where there is normally two trim pieces. There will be times when I want to remove the roof with the rack as well but I don't like the unfinished mounting . Does anyone know if the trim pieces are included when we purchase...
I was a little concerned about the new found popularity then I realized that Area 51 is exclusive to the Bronco as of this year. So, at least for this model year it is unique to the Bronco which I like.
For me it is the functional, practical side that wins. The Bronco is a built with off road capabilities first and then aesthetic considerations are made. As I explore more of how off road vehicles are accessorized I also see a form of aesthetic. I think going back to "How will I use this...
You know, I guess I just jumped at the chance to dump those ugly stock rims....is there some reason I'd prefer them?
Steel rims will bend but seldom break. That means they may be repairable on the trail, and might I add that they are lovably ugly. To me the whole Black Diamond theme is...
