Agreed. I was taking it easy on the throttle and still mangled things. I'll have to plate up my control arm brackets with something like what your Badlands gets from the factory because those things are low! My shock brackets barely got dinged but they're still going to get some skids because...
Sounds like a plan! The passenger side control arm bracket was protected by the fuel tank but the driver one got pretty hammered in 6 hours of crawling.
The current is the main variable of concern with a connector like this so ignore the voltage stuff. I would not pull over 400 amps through a connector rated at 175A but that winch will only pull that much current if you are on the first wrap and at 10k pounds of load. I always carry a snatch...
Wow, you have some work to do! I assume that front stretch puts you into full hydro steering?
There was some debate in Hot Springs last week about what year Ultimate Adventure came to Hot Springs to christen their namesake trail and I knew we had the DVD from that year (2003) so I watched...
Also:
Ford revised the spring rates, added a new rear stabilizer bar and inner and outer tie rods that are 32% stronger.
One other note is they smoked a shock reservoir on something... Shock skids are a necessity on these things.
Well, that escalated quickly 😆. Not a bad idea... I'm still building my 69 to be a dedicated crawler. The A/C in my 6G sure is nice for crawling in the 5 months we get heat indexes over 100, though!
Make sure you grease the tire tread because with 38s on a zuk the front tires might rub the...
I'm having the same thoughts. I've never had such wide wheels on a crawler and these rings are nearly as wide as the sidewalls! I'm going to look into having some made out of black uhmw or some other composite. Maybe they'd hold up ok because swapping rings seems like a pain.
Unless you rock...
That is curious and also somewhat unfortunate because it means the Raptor can't utilize the hidden witch due to a heat exchanger that doesn't actually exchange any heat.
Has anybody found a solution for these rock anchors? Does the 2.3L really not have them? I could put a skid under them but they hang so low that I really want to just cut them out. I need to go study it more but it looks like the braces could be moved up 1"+ at the crossmember and forward of...
Those are usually a waste of money if you're looking for performance. I'm holding out for the Ford tune that's supposed to be out Q2 2022, which would be in the next month or so if Ford actually hits a target.
This is where you're losing me. The normal alignment procedure is to loosen the jam nut then turn the inner tie rod because you have infinite adjustability on it. I'm sure I could make it happen if I was aligning it myself but I'm just wondering if I'm going to get a "nope!" from an alignment...
