As a retired Ford FSE I can speak to requirements for the job. It requires a bachelorās degree, usually in automotive engineering or technology. There are exceptions to an automotive degree based on background or experience, but the exceptions are not common. Nobody is an absolute expert on...
Just based on parts costs, I wouldnāt buy any new vehicle without the longest extended warranty available, and I always recommend the factory warranty. A lot of the aftermarket companies will use used parts. I donāt want a junkyard engine put in my newer vehicle.
If it stayed on for a while after flashing it was still seeing a Type B misfire which means the cylinder is hit and miss. It wonāt kill the cylinder or derate power for a Type B, it just turns the CEL on. It kills the cylinder for a Type A to protect the catalytic converter. The misfires...
Does the check engine light stay on after you let up on the throttle? If it does that indicates a misfire. If it flashes, thatās a Type A misfire, or a dead miss. There may be a concern with a part they took off the original engine and put on the new long block. Iām not sure about the oil...
We love ours. It was a 779 day wait after reservation, but worth it. It is a blast to drive, cruises down the highway effortlessly, you canāt say that about all off road vehicles. And, itās impressively able off road right from the factory. We have had no problems with it at all in about 8...
You might not be able to see the wear if you put a protector on it now. The back side of the glass protectors has a kind of wet feel to it and might gloss over the wear marks.
Itās true that sometimes you have to
āpersuadeā the ball joint studs out of the knuckle with some well placed blows, but beating on the control arm doesnāt do anything to get them apart. You need to place a big hammer on one side of the knuckle where the ball joint stud goes through and hit...
This is a perfect example of how difficult it is to find automotive technicians today, especially at the pay an āaccessories ā shop is going to offer. They either donāt know any better or donāt give a shit, or both. And the manager, or owner, whoever he was, is no better. Weāve had several...
Camber is WAY off. Iām not sure if thereās enough adjustment available to correct that much negative camber.
With that much lift there can be unintended consequences, like the angle of the tie rods vs angle of the lower control arms. That relationship needs to be maintained or there will be...
I agree with other posters, loose bolts in Bat
I agree with other posts, very possibly the 3 screws in the Battery Junction Box or one of the grounds on the front fender/cowl not tight. Are there any add-on doo-dads on it. Some of the shops that do āupgradesā are real hacks and do terrible...
The trailer brake kit was about an hour install, including pulling the headlight switch to drill a hole for the brake adjustment knob. All the other wiring was there, plug and play.
Yep, the only difference between factory install and the kit is the kit harness runs along side the factory harness along the frame rail instead of being incorporated into it. Everything else looks and functions just like factory. Itās a nice kit.
Iām not sure about that, it could go either way. They donāt pay the dealer nearly as long as it took me. The instructions that came with the kit said install time is 50 minutes, which is pure BS. You would just be throwing the stuff on to get it done that quick. Iām a little OCD with wiring...
That might be model dependent. I put Fordās kit on my ā23 and nothing had to be run to the battery that includes the brake controller. I had to plug 3 or 4 terminals into connectors above the LF wheel well and run the harness along an existing harness back to the hitch. It took an afternoon...
Yep, I stand corrected. Iāve only driven 1 7 speed and didnāt notice the gear display on the cluster. And, yes, rev matching is cool. Iāve driven several Mustangs with it.
