The amount of time system stays in recirc is to keep the cabin pressurized so exhaust fumes don’t get pulled inside. Square backed vehicles tend to do that. There was a problem with Explorers doing that and limiting recirc use helped fix them.
Yep, Broncos have the aerodynamics of one brick glued on top of another. The ride height, especially on a Squatch, also contributes. Took ours on a 2000 mile road trip las fall to Colorado. I was at 19.4 MPG average when we left and in the high 18s when we got back. We did 2 solid days of...
I got to work this morning and did my normal check for new service bulletins and this one came out about battery draw issues from a problem I have never seen. Might be worth considering for those with battery draws.
ASS not working is the first sign that the battery is low on charge and/or failing. The battery monitoring system won’t reduce charging for a failing battery, but the battery won’t accept the charge. If you look in the fuel economy menu in the cluster message center and scroll to the bottom...
All modern cars have parasitic loads on the battery when they are shut down. The last few years with OTA updates and connectivity for Ford Pass the Telematics Control Module has just added to it. How long the battery lasts with these parasitic loads depends largely on the battery state of...
Those messages are all set by the ABS module. Driving a short distance may reset them after ABS module sees wheel speed sensors, steering angle sensor, “talks” to other modules so it knows all is well with them.
Looks like a surface flaw in the casting, they aren’t unusual. If it was a crack, it would be leaking. Also, I don’t see any scratches or gouges from hitting it on anything.
I don’t think it would have run normally if the damage happened at the plant. Rodents can do their damage while you are at work, if you drive it to work. It doesn’t take the little bastards long to do their damage. See it all the time at the dealership where I work.
I wouldn’t want electrical or oil filled
i wouldn’t want anything electrical or any oil filled powertrain parts, but fenders, doors, hood, glass, bumpers, etc.. Just seems that someone would want to make some money off of those kind of parts.
As a Ford retiree that has done 25+ A/X/Z purchases for myself and others, I’m going to say probably not. Never had that question before, but I really doubt that would happen.
If the Body Control Module has detected a short too many times, it may need to be replaced. There should be DTCs, if problem remains after codes are cleared, it’ll need a BCM.
