This video is of a Jeep, but it is the same process: I found it very helpful to actually see how it was done. Hopefully this helps you as well.

This same issue is plaguing folks trying to do the Ford Performance Severe Duty Steering Rack upgrade with their ProCal. There are several threads about the rack upgrade discussing the same error. I think it is a larger issue with ProCal and Ford Performance has not quite solved it.
