Well I will nip it in the bud right now and definitively say it's a truck....solid axle, body on frame....a Ranger with more roof. Truck.

Now, back to our regularly scheduled recall discussion.....
We can agree it's not a car and call it there... 😅

My Grandmother would roast anyone who called her's anything other than a Bronco. 😁

My local dealer gave me the option ,which I took, for their mobile maintenance technician come to my home and complete the seat bolt recall. I am hoping they can do the same with this harness recall.
I tried to schedule mine the other day. First, there was no open appointments until October, no big deal but they told me the harness was not able to be done at home. Not sure if the person just wasnt sure.

Does anyone know how long it takes to do the harness?
Does it make sense to wait at the dealer?

By that standard, almost all the cars my parents had when I was a kid/teenager were really trucks. Heck, they had rear-wheel drive and longitudinal engines, too.

The '67 El Camino I sold last year was classified as a "truck", but its technology was more like "tractor".

It depends on where you live. A friend from Pennsylvania called his van a "truck." But we never called something a truck unless it had a bed or a cab with frame. Broncos would not qualify as a truck. Also El Caminoes and Rancheros didn't qualify as a truck. They were a passenger car with a bed.

I just dropped mine off this morning for the seat bolt recall and the wiring harness recall. I was going to wait, but they said the seat recall would take a while. He indicated the wiring harness was not that difficult, so you probably would be ok waiting. I left it at 8:00 and they said it would be ready by 2:00. We will see......

UPDATE:
Dealership just called and said it was ready. Seat bolt passed a visual inspection, and wiring harness was wrapped and finished. Total time was about 2 1/2 hours.

I’m in the same boat with the air compressor. I don’t trust the dealership and have had issues with my accessories in the past. Looks like I’m going to have to remove it myself, which totally sucks because this was a PIA to install.

I was told no because it needs go on a lift.

After finally finding the instructions on Page 1 I think they need to remove the front wheel. I'm sure that's a no go for a home fix.

See on Ford website parts are now available=just waiting on my letter as when I call to schedule recall appts. service people are not aware of recalls. Anyone had this recall taken care of + what does it entail [do they just wrap some wire loom around it,replace a section of wire + any time estimate once Tech has it in his bay]?
