Very good job. For some reason I still prefer the 60th grille for the very slight difference in the section by the headlights but I’ll end up with whatever is cheaper at the time.
Yeah I think this design piggy backs off the 60th. The base piece is the same. Theres a slight difference in the mid section pieces, and the modular version has that third set of added overlay pieces (with the little trapezoid shapes at the ends).

I was considering getting the 60th and custom painting, but didn’t see it on the website and wasn’t sure if it came pre painted or primed. So kind of defaulted to the modular knowing it’s all primed and paintable. It also allowed me to go blue/black/blue with the three layers. I also think the 60th suffers a bit of “brace-face” in the vent design. The modular just seemed special since 1. The ordering bank went live the first week I had to drop off the truck for repairs, and 2. I knew it would really be a 1 of 1.

Since the grille is modular, I was hoping Ford would sell it in pieces: sell the base piece, then offer a bunch of different choices for inserts that can be bought separately. Like in their Accessories store.

AFAIK Ford makes you buy either the entire 60th anniversary grille, or the entire modular grille, and eventually the entire Filson grille, even tho they all use the same base piece.

I feel that on a dark colored bronco, color matching is the way to go.

My wife misses herr's.. I sold it for 25k more than I paid for it.Thought we could just get another one..I thought wrong...
Keeping mine for a very long time. Will be tough when my oldest starts driving. Dont have the space…and dont want her driving an almost 15 yr old car at the time but we will see. I imagine there will likely be a newer Bronco to spark my interest that would just be a shared 3rd car with my youngest who’s a boy…I’m already jealous of the digital dash, non rattle windows and leather wrapped dash. But clinging HARD to my one and done 2021 AMB. Only putting 3k/yr (I commute walking to a NJ train to NYC) so there’s only so many miles I have to give. It’s still mint without a scratch despite taking it off-road some. What id be willing to sell it for is honestly probably too big a disconnect to the market, so it’s not going anywhere anytime soon lol

As far as AMBs go, this may be / continue to be one of the few low mileage, mint condition, loaded AMB over Roast in the country. So hard to replace (with the exception of custom painting something else)…but at the end of the day, it’s just a color…

Idk. There was
How much are you in after paint?
Idk - didn’t pay for it, the other driver did. there was other stuff that needed to be fixed that also required paint. A rear tire of a defender backed into the top corner by the grille/headlight/fender.

Did you see the modular grille pieces before it was all put together? How are the 2nd and 3rd layer pieces attached to the base?

Since gloss black with light reflections can look a lot like AMB, matte black 2nd layer would add more contrast with the AMB parts like your earlier rendering.

If it can be easily disassembled, you could paint the 2nd layer pieces matte black temporarily with Hyperdip removable paint. But it already looks great - much better than the stock OBX grille.

No I didn’t see it. The auto body shop ordered it amongst other parts and did the work.

I didn’t want to go matte. This spec is a rare bird - body painted door handles and mirror caps. Everything is gloss between the bumpers to the roof. I wanted to keep it that way. There was a point in time that the Wildtrak had matching handles, and it was a big toss up when placing orders in 2020/21 to go WT or OBX sas. I went OBX sas to get the dark blue over roast interior. Super classic. Since then the WT quickly dropped the painted handles for more of an off road vibe. Honestly - my spec was supposed to have a white gloss roof (never happened) and be non sas for painted fenders with a lift and wheel/tire upgrade. The white roof never happened so pivoted to the MIC top and sasquatch to get the top and fenders to match. Intentionally went with the standard bumper for that chunkier tonka truck feel. But in summary - this was designed for a classic feel - bumper to roof shall be painted gloss and those silver beadlocks are staying (although may go aluminum).

right now I just have the front windows tinted, stock wheel/tire but big spacers and now the grille, and its just a chefs kiss of simple perfection.

Looks so good. Saw a white one with plastic bumpers painted white and looked amazing Im sure the $300K Gwahgon owners were jealous.

What is it about the grille that makes it modular? Or is it not the same kind of functional modularity as the modular grille?
