Oakland- new DIY garage space with vehicle lifts

Oakland, CA has a new DIY garage space with reservable lifts. Garagepass.co recently opened. Nice space near the Coliseum. The owner is an attorney and car enthusiast. The place is insured and has fluid disposal permit.

I changed my diff and transfer case fluids there. And did a thorough inspection. I dont have a good space at home to do this work so it’s great for me!

Nah. Its an individuls' right to not give a damn, as its Freedom of Speech. I fought for those individuals to have the right to give a damn or not. No one is forced to care about Flag Code, sitting for the Anthem, or anything like that.

If you care about it, good for you, if you don't, also good for you; but either one you support, don't belittle others for the opposing view.

If you are going to fly the flag at a business, you should do it properly. If it was in his backyard, I could care less. and would agree with you. But then, that's in the US flag code as well.

He does NOT have to. Civilians are not required to adhere to Flag Code.
• the guidelines are codified in federal law (Title 4 of the U.S. Code), the code is explicitly advisory and voluntary for private citizens.
• In contrast, strict adherence is mandatory for federal agencies and military personnel under specific executive orders and military discipline
• The Supreme Court has ruled that politically motivated violations of the Flag Code are protected speech under the First Amendment

It’s DIY because you do the work yourself. You rent lift time from this young owner who is trying to start a business.

I hope he succeeds. Because he offers a service I need. So he has at least one customer. And if you notice, all 3 lifts were in use on a Thursday afternoon. Seems like there’s value in the service.
