I enjoyed watching the sunrise over Linville Gorge this morning.

Today is the last day of a five day offroad adventure. We will pack up camp and finish traveling down Old NC 105. After a quick stop at Brown Mountain OHV to run Trail 1, we will head home.

The “rock” looks intimidating on trail 1, but it isn’t as hard to get up and down as it looks. Sticking to the left side going up is a good line for it. Then coming down stick to the right.

Finally have the rear cargo area and panels all buttoned back up. I already purchased Ford front and rear floor mats right after picking up Bronco. Wanting cargo and seat back mats, it was cheaper to go with an entire 8 piece set from 3W on amazon prime day than purchase from Ford. Couldnt be happier with fitment, quality and design (especially the giant Bronco design on the cargo mat). Shout out to 3W customer service, I asked about the underfloor storage mat in their 9 piece set I recently saw on amazon. They do not sell that mat separately but responded incredibly quick.

Actually I used to think the same thing... but I was wrong....

The "goat modes" actually do change a number of parameters including throttle response, shift points and slip thresholds for stability and traction control... and those are beneficial... I do not use them most of the time but occasionally....

I seldom use GOAT modes. Sport is handy up or down two lane steep, winding mountain passes, the throttle response and gearing fit perfectly. I've used Mud and Ruts, but not sure of the effectiveness. I'm wondering if Rock Crawl, which my BB doesn't have, would improve traction in those three wheel situations the Bronco likes to find. It'd be great if it allowed an enhanced 'traction control' in 4L when in Rock Crawl. Probably too much to ask for.

... Though I belive you can add it in Forscan. Can also get rid of double honk.

I don't have FORSCAN, nor do I think I'm smart enough to run it. This Flashcal+ seems very simple and affordable. It might be worth the cost just for the double honk. And an ASS eliminator alone is a hundred bucks, so it might pay.

Actually you do not want traction control when your lockers are on... Rock Crawl mode will automatically turn it off. Traction control used brakes to stop a spinning tire and force the power to go across the differential to the traction tire... With lockers engaged you do not want a brake applied to either tire.

As far as traction goes the BEST method to improve traction is tire selection. After that I recommend air deflation. Then lockers. The front locker is your LAST choice. For very short durations and preferably in straight lines.... Turning with both lockers on can cause serious bind and the front shafts are your weak point.

I finally got around to installing a twisted shifterz knob in mine today. I hated the original knob; the classic ball feels a lot better in the hand

I may be wrong about this but I think if you have your rear locker engaged and do not have a front locker then traction control still works on the front only. So... I think you are actually getting what you want... BUT someone with more knowledge of Broncos with a single rear locker should validate or correct my assumption.

I took my 26 Stroppe out for a drive today on a somewhat primitive road [in spots] through the desert. If you live within 100 miles of Phoenix maybe you have driven this road. It’s called Castle Hot Springs Rd. It’s about 30 miles long. I’ll post a few pics.

I think transction control is disabled in 4L. I imagine if you are using lockers, you're probably in low range anyways.

Love that drive on a nice day. If you're into rock hounding, detour up Walker Gulch and check out the large quartz boulders in the wash. My bronco always seems to come home a couple of hundred lbs heavier. The wife's addiction is bad!

I’m starting to think I’ll need to bring a flake of alfalfa as a trail item in burro or wild horse areas!
