There are a lot of people upset that a manufacturer is going to fix a problem before it negatively affects them...

Eager to see what they're looking at for a chafe point. It seems that its a KOER/KOEO issue, so its appears switched power at face value.

Please post the recall procedure when it comes out... I spent a bit of time attaching various wire harnesses I put in for lights and flat tow to the stock ones, and I'm curious which are affected.

I did the same added fog lights using OE parts and OE headlight switch that has the fog light button, tapped into a harness also for ditch lights & roof lights, im not concerned with the taps i made just if they come upon them and make a federal case about it.

There is zero chance Ford is buying my Bronco back because first they won't, and second I love it beyond words. Plus they are fixing this stuff.

Recall affects 563,188 Broncos.
NTSA documented ~20 Bronco fires attributed to faulty wiring harness protection. Even if the actual number of harness fires were 20X as many Broncos, the overall percentage risk is relatively small.

This is no different than any other manufacturer.
They’re required to release and notify recalls to customers before any repair would be available.
That’s why it’s called advanced notice.

You can check any other manufacturer and 99% of the time, notification of recalls come weeks to months before an actual repair is available depending on what the recall entails.

This one is only a week because it should be a simple repair.

So just out of curiosity, how long has the low pressure fuel pump been around? How long did it take for the valve test?

Look, I've been a Ford guy all my life, I won't buy anything but Fords (except for my wife's Jeep). I'm not going anywhere, but the way Ford has been going the last 2 years with recalls, maybe they should worry less about raising prices every other week, and worry a little bit more about Quality Control. All that money they paid the factory workers a few years back when they were crying hasn't done shit for the final product.

They are not looking just for a fix. They are looking for the most cost effected close enough.

If they knew how to run a business, maybe they'd realize that the most cost effective is to build it right the first time and not have recalls.

But yes, I agree with your statement. Who in the room can give us the cheapest fix to satisfy this.

I thought I saw the word "sheath" in the recall documents.

Not likely. If it's an issue that may happen, Ford will add the necessary insulation to the harness regardless. CYA.

I noticed a couple of wires wrapped in cloth tape going to a connecter next to the radiator overflow bottle. That section is right up against the passenger fender and it's a sharp edge. I doubt it's that simple, but most of the other wiring is buried under stuff.

Just in case that's it...I just sliced a small piece of rubber hose and attached it over that sharp edge piece.
