Yeah, but they are still a pain. Takes several hours, and I don't know any dealers who do warranty or recall work on weekends. So, unless it's really important, I'm going to continue to ignore them.

Honestly, the part that makes these easier to deal with is that I've yet to actually experience any problems from recalls. So these have been more of a "while you doing the oil change, go ahead and take care of the recalls" situation. With pickup and delivery, I'm not waiting, either, so whether it takes an extra hour or three, it doesn't affect me. I'm sure I'd feel a lot differently if I actually had to deal with these issues, though.

Yes the group has come to the conclusion mice did a number on that bronco I went over...I do hope that is the loom cause thats one easy fix! We have yet to find out where the exact location is but we are all waiting for Ducati098 like the Pope to appear at Easter mass and tell us

After reading your thread I would agree that you are one of the unfortunate Bronco owner's to have this issue. Glad to see you were made whole.

Poked around my engine bay and general visible harness points. Everything seems fine. But I did notice the part of the harness that runs across the crossmember by the pass. side radiator fan shroud was making some contact with one of the shroud sections.

These pics are after I pried it away a bit, but it was resting solidly on the shroud - no real damage noticed and still had plenty of clearance from the fan itself. Going to throw a zip tie down there in a bit. Crazy, this is the third plumbing/wiring spot in my engine bay that I've had to throw a zip tie or make small adjustments to, due to chafing and contact.

EDIT: Threw on a zip tie, much more clearance now.

"On June 18, 2026, Ford’s Critical Concern Group (CCRG) opened an investigation to review fire events on 2021-2026 model year (MY) Bronco vehicles to combine existing investigatory workstreams.

During these investigations, the CCRG identified similarities in certain fire events on 2021-2026MY Bronco vehicles in which some customers observed smoke in the air vent and flames from the passenger side of the engine compartment while driving. Further analysis of these incidents revealed evidence that at least some of the fires originated in the passenger side of the engine compartment. CCRG’s investigation identified seven Bronco Raptor fires and eight base Bronco fires that may have started in the passenger side of the engine compartment.

CCRG investigated potential root causes for fires originating at this location and found that relative movement between the engine compartment wiring harness and surrounding components and insufficient abrasion protection on the wiring harness can lead to exposure of wiring. After internal harness wires are exposed, intermittent shorts can create arcing and potentially ignite nearby flammable components. Inspections of over 80 Bronco vehicles found evidence of rubbing or chafing on the engine compartment wiring harness covering in a small number of the inspected vehicles"

Quoting the pertinent question/answer from earlier today.

A question for @Ducati1098 relating to recalls. I had the front driveshaft recall and removed my Asfir transmission skid before taking it in and plan to do the same when I get the fuel pump recall done as the skid is not OEM and maybe not considered part of the covered recall repairs. I also have a RC hidden winch which could in theory be in the way for this one (and would be a pain to remove), wiring for various aftermarket stuff on the drivers inner fender and mudflaps which would be in the way if it's the fenderwell harness.

What's the policy on dealing with non OEM parts that need to be removed to complete recall repairs?

Dealer would need to get any additional labor to remove and reinstall aftermarket parts approved by SSSC

I've just been thinking, I have rerouted my passenger-side harness to Everglades spec. I wonder what they'll do with that. That's not aftermarket but it isn't really factory either.
