I was on I-5 between Redding and Red Bluff in far northern California. The section I was in a hilly area, with southbound on one side of a grassy gully and northbound on the other. I noticed a loose tire far ahead of me, rolling at a narrow angle to the opposite lanes and dropping gradually into the gully. Hmmm.... Then it climbed right back up the other side of the gully to the lanes on my side. For a moment I thought it would hit my vehicle but it ended up going to my left.
Years ago I was on I-45 south of Houston at a Fuddruckers on the frontage road. We're coming out and we hear this banging noise. We look and this overloaded trailer is about to rattle apart as it goes by and throws off a tire, which passes the truck (!) jumps the shoulder median ditch thingy, hops up on the road, rides next to a car as it passes it, then hits the curb at the restaurant next to us, pops up in the air about 30ft and lands on the windshield of a car, and keeps going where we can't see it. True story, I swear it all happened. The best I can recollect, at least.

So many questions! Why do they have a hitch and stinger? Maybe they have a boat delivery service and this way they can transport two boats????? How much could a new trailer wheel bearing cost....and is it more than the roof rack they fabricated? Do they own a massive excavator? Do the brake lights and turn signals have to function? Could they be THAT BAD AT BACKING UP TRAILERS???? Oh yeah, and the doozie..... what the hell happens when you get to the boat ramp????

When you get to the ramp, back up as fast as you can and slam on the brakes letting the boat slide off gently into the water!

I actually have some dashcam footage.
1. Someone not wanting to miss their exit.

2. Taking the turn too quickly with bald tires in the rain.

I've had the former happen to me so many times, including across six lanes in Houston, with a brake check right at the end. The one really memorable one was on the Beltway in East Houston where an Asian guy in a very fancy BMW convertible cut me off just like that and I clearly saw the look of real fear in the two Asian beauties eyes looking dead at me, one of them beating on his neck from the backseat. They thought they were gonna die, missed me by inches (he also brake checked me).

I've done the latter. Did that one time in my Bronco after a very light rain and my M/T's lost grip and I spun about 480deg and was facing the way I'd come. It was 8am on a Saturday thankfully, but it was really crazy regardless.

I was on a Lotus road trip from Annapolis, MD to Austin, TX in 2024. Saw this at a gas station...

Ford Bronco What's the craziest thing you've seen behind the wheel? uhaul

Note the rear of the trailer fender bent outward! I suspect the same on the other side but wanted to make sure to leave before them and didn't investigate...

Back when I was a kid, we had a lady pull up beside us at a red light. She had a cigarette and donut in one hand, paper spread across the wheel, and a ceramic mug of coffee in the other. Oh, and the radio blasting.

Seen something like the boat on the truck's roof - a motorhome pulling a full size pickup through my town, boat and trailer up in the box (good 19' boat, trailer was wider than the bed), still not sure HOW they got it up there because there were no evident ramps or device to hoist it up in there. If I recall Florida plates.

Semi missed the new roundabout south of town. Big hill in the middle, so it looked like he was trying to launch it.

Plenty of people slamming on brakes and cutting across lanes.

In construction north of Cincinnati, from 75 to 275, guy just decides to get off beside me (mind you the off ramp was one lane at the time). Glanced over to see his girl's ass while her head was bobbing in his lap. I remember thinking 'dude...you're gonna get her killed. sure it's worth it?' but at the split we each went our separate ways.

It's wild out there.

Somebody told him an Excursion will fit on one of those trailers.

Which I HAVE seen a picture of...and I wouldn't recommend it.

I'd like to hear the story on why that made sense. Only thing I can think of is he had another item he was towing with the hitch, and dropped that one off first.

Well he's got the proper flags, looks like this is a regular thing for this guy.

When I was growing up, we were on a road trip, somewhere in Indiana. My Dad was passing a vehicle, so I was staring at the person we were passing. I was confused as to who the driver was because the steering wheel was covered by a newspaper or magazine of some sort, in their left hand was some food item, and in their right hand was a drink. This was almost 20 years ago, well before any self-driving car was a thing

Wish I had a pictures, lady illegal left hand turned in front of me. I swirved hard, luckily no one was in the right lane directly next to me. Just missed her rear bumper. Had my windows down, a guy driving in the right lane but a few car lenghts back rolled up next to me, at the next light I looked over and said, "OH, that was fun." He replied, "I have no idea how you missed her."

I had to overtake a Caribou and pass him on the left once.

Very deep snow but the road was plowed to only an inch deep. When I came upon him, he didn’t want to run off the road. He went down the road away from me. We both kept picking up speed and I eventually crossed the centerline to pass him. He was hauling ass at the point.
