I don't trust that calculation anyway.....

Hmmm. We don't seem to be on the same wavelength here....Im not arguing that the tank is taller, but this is not a new problem with the Bronco. i installed a 55 gallon in f350, that tank was taller, longer and wider. the DTE is still representative, in the f350 if i get 10mpg with a 55 gallon tank i should have ~550 miles at the upper most range of the float, and when the float reads 1/2 then i should have ~275 miles. now at the extreme ends of the thow there will be variations and i can live with as all things DTE it is approximate
Ok so i have spend more time that i wanted to verifyAgain, that's the primary issue with the FK, it is both taller/deeper and thus the float is not correct topped out NOR nearer to empty when we are concerned with DTE.
And, as also noted in the other thread, this requires an adjustment to the fuel system software, which simply isn't available in the Bronco. What i want is for when the float starts to move i get a representation of the correct amount of fuel based on the tank size.
...
i just need it to be representative so at a glance i can see 220 miles to empty vs the 138 with out having to do the math in my head.
no offence, but i hope to prove you wrongThis is the price to pay with the much larger tank.
Zero offense. I would simply love to be wrong as I'm strongly considering this tank myself!no offence, but i hope to prove you wrong![]()
The factory sender is resistive but some preliminary research indicates there are actually 2 senders (ugh).
unless we can get in to update the amount of fuel the bronco think it holds then it wont matter, still looking for that magic bullet on how to update from 20 to 30 gallon tankHas anyone thought about lengthening the factory float rod so the float will sit lower in the tank when empty and higher when full
You seem to be repeatedly missing the point here. There are two problems here, basically, in simple math terms, slope and offset. The above would absolutely help and has potential to fix one of these problems (offset). That said, I suspect modifying the float would be incredibly difficult if not impossible in practice.unless we can get in to update the amount of fuel the bronco think it holds then it wont matter, still looking for that magic bullet on how to update from 20 to 30 gallon tank
