Shock recalibration Info after 2 inch install needed….

Just did mine, located in the SFV. Was a bit of a pain in the ass if you’re out of the allotted height that the computer allows. Do you have access to forscan?

Hi, and thanks for your reply…. No, I do not have forscan. I wanted to install the coils myself and have the shop recalibrate it. I have no idea what the shop would charge to install the coils but that’s usually my area but I am open to having a shop do it as long as the price is not crazy. San Fernando Valley is not too bad for me. I live right next to LAX airport. Can I ask the name of the shop and are you happy with their work? Thanks.

Don't need to do this. Leave it alone.
Ours has been lifted for 2 years with no "calibration" no errors. Works properly

I’ve had a different experience…. Most noticeable as it “chattered” on rough pavement after adding Hyperco 2”/1” springs. I performed a ride height recalibration using Forscan which was pretty easy to do. Ride was noticeably better after.

If your ride height is not recalibrated, your algorithm doesn’t know the actual position of suspension.

That isn't true. It always knows where it is unless calibration is dropped. That does not change regardless of lift or drop. This is because the ride height sensor is not changed or altered.

Only difference is the starting ride height baseline.

But then you'd need to recalibrate it if you were loaded or towing and recalibrate it when empty as your baseline changes. This is obviously not practical or required.

I found on the raptor forum that someone made their own adjustable links, but no where to actually buy such a thing. However, the f150 links are 110 mm in length stock and there is a 95 mm one available when running certain aftermarket uca's. Idk what the bronco raptor runs for links.
2" of lift will affect your ride with live valve shocks and recall rating should be done to get your ride back. Sounds like you need for scan to do it. Plenty of threads on Ford raptor forum about this, as they've had live valve since 2019.

When you add springs, your base ride height changes. The piston inside the shock is at a different position. The ride height sensor thinks you're in a drooped position if you do not recalibrate and will ride harsher and feel jittery over small bumps/rough roads. The Live Valve shocks have "zones" for damping, based on the poistion the ride height sensor reports. This is a well documented issue that started in with the Gen 3 F-150 Raptors. Anyone who says you don't need to recalibrate, doesn't understand how Fox Live Valves work.

I was able to confirm the ride height was out of range on mine by reading the PIDs for the ride height values for all four corners using Forscan before performing the recalibration. The values should all be 0 or close to it. if not, run the ride height calibration.

We also found the issue on my friends Braptor with 2”/2” lift. the difference isnt huge, but we both noticed some improvement in ride quality after performing the calibration.

Im sure there are shops that work on F150 raptors down in your area that would be able to knock this out easily. Any shop that has Ford diagnostic software should be able to figure it out, local Bronco/raptor group in Facebook would also be a good resource.
