It’s a term of endearment. My grand dad would call everyone that. Maybe you should be calling me that.
I was just pointing out I was in the geezer group and not some young one casting disparaging remarks toward the elderly. Lol

I went with the Machined look

Nice! Machined was my first choice but the wheels I wanted where the KMC beadlocks and they were too much money.

Interesting, couldn’t agree more on the black socks & sandals… nasty!

The polished, bright wheels, chrome, accents, etc are Old Guy endearments, our days of 60-70’s.

The black, black out, no chrome / shinny is the Younger Generations. Which as an Old Guy, I’ve always found drab & boring!

Glad to see the shinny wheels being popular!
Old Guy looks returning! 🤠
It's kinda funny - because the cycle has changed.

Black wheels and the more "aggressive" / bro style is on it's way out and seen as an older person thing now- while the more classic/retro style is becoming back in.

So soon, all the young folk will have the polished wheels and the older guys will have the black wheels.

To me, I think this build is fun because you can go either route- but I see way too many of the "aggressive" builds, so the classic/vintage look is more appealing to me, personally.

Shiny is always better. Black rims remind me of old dudes who wear black socks with sandals.
Tell us you've never been to a car show without telling us you've never been to a car show. The amount of chrome or shine on a vehicle is directly proportional to the age of the owner, the lame jean shorts, tucked in t-shirt, kneesocks and white new balance sneaker crowd. Chrome and polished wheels are pretty much an awful look on 99% of vehicles.

Black, grey, bronze and even white wheels and trim come out of a car culture that has nothing to do with these people whatsoever.

I like the look with your color. I put M/T Canyons on my marsh gray BL but kept my original stock black rims. Giving myself time to see which I like better....appreciate any feedback too...

I will take umbrage with that blanket statement. I am the lame jean shorts, tucked in t-shirt, kneesocks and white new balance sneaker crowd... Well, those are people my age. I still wear levies because they fit well and I have been wearing La Sportiva Mountaineering boots for the last 30 years (because they fit my really wide EEE feet...) and you can not see my wool socks.... but those guys are my age and well... Chrome looks good in certain circumstances... Sucks in others... And I have gone to car shows since Moses held the first one at the red sea resort.

Personally I think it depends... and no I do not wear any before you go there. LOL...

Sorry just hate absolutes...

OP, good choice on the wheels!

My wife had them installed on her Heritage Edition, but decided to swap to gloss black with machined accents when we put on the 37s. Still has the retro look we were wanting. Her old set are for sale. Before and after pics below.

I really don’t care what color wheels ya have (well maybe not green or orange), you have to live with them…not me…and I am old (born in the ‘40s) and have never wore socks with sandals…I did wear cowboy boots and socks most of my life but now I basically wear sandals all the time when I’m not wearing wool moccasin slippers…neither with socks…but I am still wearing 501s since grade school…

EEE feet? You could waterski without the skis! 😂

I agree that there is a time and a place for chrome or polished wheels... and that time and place is not on a 6g bronco with black and grey metal bumpers, fender flares and roof. They don't look "retro" they look completely out of place.

Your wheels should match the overall theme and coloring of the vehicle. If someone really went all-out and found tasteful chrome or polished trim and bumpers on their 6g, then the matching wheels would be appropriate. Otherwise, it doesn't work.
