Ugh. I’ve got that coming up, too. Not looking forward to that.

Yesterday was the perfect day to remove the top and half the doors. I am a little hesitant with my dog in the back seat and the rear doors off. But for me I figured it was fine. Time to try out the newly assembled EZ4x4 cap lift.

Then off on a road trip to WV

I saw this sweet Heritage edition Bronco at Harvest Gap brewery in VA. I need those wheels and tires!!

and I finally wrapped up the day at a Cars and Cigars gathering in Ashburn VA. I showed up to hang with friends. I didn’t expect my Bronco to get attention, but it did.

Several weeks late in reporting this:

2,400 mile trip from north of Seattle down into California, through Santa Rosa then Sacramento, and into the Bishop area.

Had to see what the Buttermilk road was all about -- after watching several YouTube videos of the trail, I recognized much of it.



looking ahead to where the road goes:

Some rocks the Bronco walked over in 4 low with no sweat:

some of the easier washouts: you can kinda see a Range Rover heading down in the right of the photo. It was at this point I figured I should stop taking photos and get back to driving .
Oh, I purposely took a few of the harder areas of the washouts.

The first part of the road was easier than some of the videos made out, but it must have been graded the other year after some heavy rains.
I turned around after getting into the upper area with the trees and grassy spots, having had some fun through muddy wombat holes and several water crossings with medicine ball size rocks trying to keep me in the water. The Bronco ignored the rocks and went over them smoothly.

The thing I most dislike about using the Bronco -- airing up and ending the trail:

I had to hit the nearby mining ghost town of Bodie, above Mono Lake.
An $8.00 fee I swore I wasn't going to spend, but it was a great place to snoop around at the mining stuff and some filled-in test mines and tailings above the town. I came into the townsite from 395 on Cemetery Road through a certain Cottonwood Canyon. No other vehicles using it. Always a good thing....

Looking from the graveyard:

I promised one of the fellows from Ireland buried in the graveyard that I would have a Guiness with him in mind/memory/honor.

I’m genuinely surprised at all the feelings, this rig has become my favourite vehicle by far in such a short time, it has taken me to impossibly beautiful places and has been a blast to drive all the way there and back again - but it’s not quite what I need right now, so trade incoming!

Yesterday, using Forscan I disabled my fake engine "ESE" sound on my 2026 Bronco Badlands with the Lux package. Below are the after and before Forscan ASM data sets. I have already added my Steeda muffler so having both ESE and the enhance sound from the new muffler was a bit too much.

My initial setting for ACM 727-01-01 was "30FF FCFS 1060" and I modified it to "30FF FCFS 0060" but after I performed a write all the value changed to "30FF FCFS 0050". Not sure why the 6 change to a 5, but I performed it multiple times.

Today I finally got around to picking a spot and mounting my Broaddict wall door hangars. Super easy install once I found a good spot. A few holes to patch but not too bad

Opened the door to retrieve my sunglass that I forgot which are normally on my daily bike . I know too exciting . But here are the reports of why my sunglasses were in the truck for the last few days .
