How about the "loud" pedal? ....and I can remember my father yelling at other (slow) drivers...."It's the long, skinny pedal to the right pal!!!!"

Here is an example of my advanced age. At the Bronco rodeo the group had arrived at a location on the trail that incorporated huge boulders that we were being instructed on how to traverse. The trail had the boulders on the right and an easy thruway on the left. When the instructor asked if anyone had any questions I asked “ why would anyone drive over the boulders when they could simply go around them?”. As you can guess rock crawling is a foreign concept to me.

What is your point? Kids these days grew up on a solid state....

I also take a dim view of that floors switch.

Floor shifters were actually quite an advancement over the tree.

On my 1969 Cougar convertible, I needed to adjust these every 2k miles, and I typically replaced them after 4k miles. Engine idle was always noticeably smoother after adjustment/replacement.

These are classic "dad jokes" that our kids simply would not understand, but all us "dads" are laughing out loud.
And yes, moving to "4 on the floor" from "3 on the tree" was so much better because I also went from a straight 6 to a V8.
