I have never used or felt the need for chains?? I will even happily spend an extra day or two in the hotel waiting for a storm to clear or pull winch cable to avoid chains…but that is just me😜😃…I have a lot of stuff packed away I CARRY ALL THE TIME and have never used in my Bronco on a “road” trip…what I do use is my credit card and phone…off road it would be the high lift and tow/snatch strap…along with TP/wipes of course…party on!

I guess it depends on overlanding or a trip to the big city. But in both cases it is my phone and cash, and the first aid and trauma kits and water.

Curious what the one thing is you MUST bring on the road with you.

Could be recovery gear, snacks, tools… anything you refuse to leave home without 😄

Euhomy refrigerator. It's been running with me on many road trips over the past 4 years and is hands down my best road trip item. Leftovers, food, drinks..... Don't leave home without it when I'm doing long 2-4K runs.

I like to rig it in the middle rear seat with a few bungees so my wife can reach it while we are on the move and it's a nice barrier between the boys in the back. 10/10.

Something I always bring that is not kept in the Bronco full time is a good size cooler. Never know what food items we will bring home. We do road trips without a true plan. Hit markets and restaurants wherever the roads take us.
Honestly, road trips with no real plan and random market/restaurant stops usually end up being the best ones 😅

And the cooler answer is smart. Nothing worse than finding something awesome on the road and realizing you have nowhere to keep it.

I always travel with a good thorough, first aid kit. It is amazing how often it gets used.
That’s one of those things you hope you never need… until you really need it.

And you’re right, it’s kind of surprising how often a good first aid kit ends up getting used on trips.

“I’ll just stay an extra couple days at the hotel” is a pretty solid anti-chain strategy honestly 😅

And yeah, funny how the things we actually end up using the most are usually the phone, credit card, wipes, and recovery straps… not the giant pile of “just in case” gear you haul around everywhere 😂
