I'd agree it's wise. Is the Bronco, the best vehicle for what I do? Not really. A sport would probably suffice. But I have to like the vehicle I am buying. I don't really like the sport. I don't hate it, but 4 doors, automatic...nothing there that calls to me. Instead of smiling when I look at my truck, it's just a tool to be used as required. And it's an awfully expensive tool to just not really care much about it.

For my lifestyle, I can honestly say, that the 2 dr Bronco is a step up in practicality. I got out of the Army in 1999, bought a car in 2000, a V6 Mustang. Kept it for a few years, but was really jonesing for an S197 Mustang because it was much more like the 66's I loved as a kid. Bought another V6 in late 2005, first '06 off their lot I believe. Drove it until 2012 and put 140k miles on it when I decided I both deserved and needed that V8 and bought a use 08 GT. I drove that until 2024 when I decided that I had to get that 2dr SUV with a manual while I could, and the Bronco looked like the old Scouts and Broncos I liked as a kid. The late 60s really were peak for US car design aesthetics imo. I still have the Mustang too, drove it earlier today. 231k miles on it; Ford deserves my trust at this point.

After a quarter of a century of Mustang cargo space and gas mileage, the 2 dr Bronco is imminently practical. Hauls those groceries, negotiates the parking lot at safeway, more comfy, and honestly, is a lot easier on my bad knees getting in and out of than the Stangs were. What's more, it's got me back out and exploring the back country around here, which the Mustang simply would not do. And I get to be happy about my purchase because I legitimately like the truck. It's far more practical imo to spend on a vehicle I like than something that I've internally labelled as a soulless shitbox.

Now, for a Filson edition? I bought a Big Bend because I didn't want the payment on a Badlands, and didn't expect to use the capability that a Badlands brings me. I'm certainly not up-spending for leather seats and some company's logo. Heck, if I wanted to that, I could have bought an Outer Banks. For 80k? I ain't buying a Ford. I don't care how cool it is, it's still only ever going to be a Ford.

I loved the Bronco Sport Bad Lands Sasquatch. 2.0 is a great power plant, corners on rails with Bilsteins and the B&O is great......deal killers for me was no upgrade from Mustang HPP Convertible, high price for very low rent interior, no roll back roof or soft top, and in red neck country its a girls or grandparents vehicle.

if it has the roof I would have gone for it and spent money on interior and FP tune.

Love the OBX with Hoss2 and $10K in audio and tire wheel upgrades.

I've never heard of it. It looks like nice stuff. Getting an interior made with that canvas (?) material they use might be nice! But we might get the "abbreviated" version, if you hear what I'm saying... lol 🤫

B&O anyone??
The canvas in the Filson Bronco at KOH 2021 is the same canvas that’s on the seats of an OBX with roast cloth interior.

I'll be first in line to admit I love the look of the photos.
I had an AEV Brute Filson as my work PC desktop background for years.
I'm sure they'll be priced way out of my budget & I doubt we'll ever see one on anything more hardcore than a forest service road, but I think it will be cool look.
That green color from the forest service rigs was great.
I'd love to see a well done civilian Bronco in that green/white livery.

That gives us some clues. As long as it comes with matching luggage like a European sports car.

For that rich dentist to go trophy hunting in UP or Alaska I guess.

Okay, predictions:

It’ll be a “premium” Badlands 4DR

Dark forest green-gray, like that spare tire cover.

Some hand tooled brown or tan leather interior, with stitching.

Other custom interior accents, maybe door panels in armrests in the tin cloth or canvas.

Custom leathery buckle storage bags, somewhere. Maybe with mounting spots.

A pre-rigged set of roof lights, amber bumper pods, bull bar, color-accent shackles, a built out OEM roof rack w/optional cases.

35” tires, maybe Mickey Thompson ATs, on nice new old-school wheels. Maybe white, Heritage style.

Nothing new or innovative with the powertrain or suspension.

Essentially about $8-10K worth of cosmetic touches that they price at $15-17K over a loaded, normal Badlands.

It will look cool though. It’s a “look we made it unique” for you package, for the blue-chippers. A lot of folks here spend plenty on cosmetic mods, so why not? They won’t need to make or sell a lot for it to be a nice showroom lure.

Something like Overland Outfitters door pockets.

Ford isn't going to replace the ubiquitous plastic in the cabin. But they need to upgrade components like armrests, console covers, HLIP, seat covers. It needs to be an upgrade beyond Katzkins and go above just accent stitching on the HLIP.

If that Wrangler edition was $70K the Bronco is going to be $80K at least!

They can just recycle some of their Everglades with new interior with the winch in front that did not sell well.

V8?

This Filson AEV catalog is pretty cool.

For those on IG, give Paul Wraith a follow. He is the Bronco designer. He doesn't post much, but he inadvertently shares photos that sometimes has content that shouldn't. Recently, he shared a peak at the Filson/Bronco collab jacket.

Alpine Blue Fir - mimics the Forest Service Green somewhat with a tinge of Boxwood.

Love it. Needs some painted fender flares though.
Seriously, sitting at a half million produced, I literally see myself all day long now. Broncos are as common as jeeps anymore. Having something unique would be appealing for me.

The canvas in the Filson Bronco at KOH 2021 is the same canvas that’s on the seats of an OBX with roast cloth interior.
I have the roast interior grips like velcro and looks good.
