Weird noise from behind the pedals.

I just got my Bronco this week and while I was driving I noticed a sound coming from behind my pedal area. The best way I could describe it the sound sounded like a radiation detector. The noise was not constant and stopped when I wasn’t driving. I checked for something being loose like plastic. There still is basically nothing in it so nothing was rattling that I had in there like change or something. Me nor any of my buddies had ever heard something like this. Anyone have an idea of what it might be?

LOL, no they did not plus the sound will go for a little then stop then start again. So sadly it could not be that.

So I actually have had that exact noise the two times Ive engaged the rear lockers. Also had it in 4L if that helps.

Interesting, this was in 2 wheel on normal mode no lockers engaged. Very odd

I've heard it a few times as well. I believe it has to do with either traction control or stability control, because when it happens I basically lose all response from the gas pedal.

I hear the same noise when I make sharp turns. I have the Sas suspension and stock 35's. I didn't find any rubbing marks in the wheel well.

so mine seems to be caused by airflow… once I get up to 50+ miles an hour, typically on the interstate it starts… it does seem to die off at around 80. Also it seems to happen more if I’m driving straight on or veering to the left… when I veer to the right, it seems to die off.

Any update on this? Mine does the same thing after getting it back from dealer after a cam phaser replacement. Drives me crazy.
